You know, if this remake was truly 1 to 1 in translations, I probably would have accepted defeat. However, the localizers were super selective on what stayed and what got changed (Whether it's from the Japanese script or from the 2004 English) that it was pretty clearly a conscious decision to make her trans.
Oh, well. At least the good thing is that I was already kind of iffy on how the visuals and audio look and sound because of just how overdone they are.
