While I think Aaron commentary has a virtue signaling element to it, I think most of what he says in this clip are his true human thoughts about all of this. For any person that holds normal values, you can go along with all the debauchery for so long until you begin to sum all the scary elements of the cult of Slaanesh and get scared from it.

It really seems probable that Nick is the kind of person to hold into people that applaud his bad behavior (Dax, Vito), and distances from the people in his life that warns him of the dangers of this path.

And I think the moments that Aaron got emotional are genuine. The Slanesh cult life doesn't match with a life of a father of 5 (or any other amount) children should responsibly have. Doesn't matter how hard you try to hide it from your children.

According to Nicks "true" friend (JuJu The Cow), Nick got the help he needed.

There was a point in time all Nick needed to do was to put the heavy drinking (and other drugs) to rest, and restart his grifting on the commentary of legal topics. Working for the audience that he took so long to get. But this audience now is long gone.

The time for redemption is long gone. Like a patient in exclusive palliative care, there will be bumps in their lives in which they will lose functions and never get them back again. Nick got one of these bumps. This out of context clip of him masturbating will be forever marked by the Internet. His children will eventually see it, and probably be mocked by their colleagues because of it. And by the nature of the Internet, his grandchildren will also see this. What a world to live in, huh?
