I can post the 60 fps patch if anyone wants it. It works mostly perfectly, but the opening FMV is a little stuttery. Still, with 60fps like the original it feels much more like a proper remake
I'd like to see it. Though I'd also really love for someone to make a patch that fixes the localization with a fine-toothed comb. At this point, I just want a straight translation of the Japanese, but the way things are, that's a fucking pipe dream (unless someone enacts Total Wokeist Death).

You know what is obnoxious about this? A Chad Norwegian used computer synthesized sounds to compile this song using stock sound data files, generative algorithmic AI and his own two fucking ears.

There is no excuse for abortions like this "remastered boss fight song". Just shear lack of talent and taste.
I think you mean "sheer," unless you were referring to wanting to cut your own ears off after listening to what passes for nintendo game music nowadays - in which case I totally agree.

From my understanding, this goes beyond a localization mishap between translators. They intentionally changed the original Japanese script TO match up with an English translation to appease to the trans community. It's a couple lines, sure. But why the need TO go out their way to change two lines?

It’s possible they viewed it as always the intent of the original script and in current year the west is far more accepting and so made the change without any thought about pushback because it seems like a change even if it might not be. And the outrage mob will jump on anything.

There’s the mod, just plop it in the mod folder for your emulator of choice. I use the final build of Yuzu early access, which I can also provide.

As for other mods, I guarantee that’ll come. The game doesn’t officially launch until tomorrow, so give it a few days. One thing about switch gamers is that they usually have good mod scenes and most games have been retranslated and decensored when possible

Who determines the intent of the script? The original language? The fans? The localization team? I'm sure there's more issues with the remake than a couple lines lost in translation. Do you know how many video game controversies have happened the past month? I'm not trying to undermine them in principle. I'm trying to understand what is happening in the grand scheme of things.

This is a little more blatant, but Vivian was always supposed to be trans, just the 2004 Japan version of it.
Bro, you're wasting your time. Anyone who knows anything about PM: TTYD already knew that Japanese Vivian was trans and does not care about the localization "change," which in reality just restores the original Japanese script. People who care about the game could not care less about it.

Always the original lanuague. That’s probably why the disconnect is happening. Because the OG PM TTYD removed that in the English release putting it back and not just using the original english script is going to cause a few heads to turn.

Well with Nintendo, it’s Treehouse being dumb again. And with everything else? Every few months all companies collectively shit the bed.

And there also comes points where they try and ruin things cause they find it funny and are vindictive arseholes. The bed shitting recently has been caused by that. The fun police do so hate fun.

Yeah that's gonna be fucking hellfire incoming. If not the troon shit, then fans are gonna have to determine whether or not they should include what the original jap script had back in 2004.
I guess realistically, they would probably upload multiple different versions of the script (The 2004 american release, the 2004 japanese script translated, a mix between the two, the 2024 japanese script translated). Annoying, but doable given their autism.

Also was Vivian really that popular of a partner even before the trans shit came out to more people? I'd imagine Goombella, the Yoshi kid, or even fucking Koops was more popular than Vivian ever was.
I think Vivian's popularity is for similar reasons as Geno in RPG: they both hit really fucking hard, and Vivian did it without needing super precise input timing like Geno or long strings of perfect action commands like Goombella.

No? At best Vivian was a trap, according to what I've heard from people familiar with the original 2004 Japanese release.
