I see "lacks theory of mind" thrown around a lot on here, and I think it's over used.

Even Russell and Chris Chan must understand other people have thoughts because they know people disagree with them. It would take a much more seriously handicapped person to not understand other people have thoughts when you talk to other people or read things other people write. Chris and Russ at least understand other people have motivations for their actions. They're WRONG about what those motivations are, but they understand other people have them, and that they can contradict their own wants and needs.

Then again, maybe that's me lacking "theory of mind" because I find it hard to imagine a mind so deficient it doesn't understand other people have thoughts while at the same time talking to and reading text by other people. To me, it's just self evident that if other people can say and write things you didn't know they were going to, they must have thoughts that you can't hear

In Rusty's case, in his mind, he everyone is an npc with a script that he wrote for them. When people don't follow the script, it's what causes his head to tighten and trauma lumps to form. While he does expect disagreement with his beliefs, that disagreement is scripted to certain people and not others. He's completely flabbergasted when the people who aren't scripted to do so disagree with Jim.

The bane of his existence has always been people not following the script he established for them inside his tight trauma lumped head.

He doesn't believe anyone sincerely disagrees with him. They're deliberately being malicious. He has no comprehension whatsoever of how other people think or he wouldn't do the shit he does.

Lots of redditors claim they have no internal dialogue whatsoever. There are people out there with minds so defective it's hard even to conceive of going through life so crippled.

Anyone who disagrees with him clearly hates the handicapped.

You have to wonder, what special recipe of parental and educational coddling leads to something like Russ? It's as if he learned the wrong lessons from everything growing up. And government enforced mandatory pity/sympathy means Russ must always get what he wants. It's not like post High School life has ever followed this pattern for him?

Chris understands that other people have thoughts only in the simplest sense, that they have an organ called the brain and it does thinking like his does. But it doesn't go further than that. Chris thinks that anything that's apparent to him must be apparent to everyone else. He has immense difficulty imagining other perspectives exist.

When people disagree with him, Chris thinks they're either stupid or they know better and they're just being deliberately cruel.

The standard test for theory of mind involves puppets, where you have puppet A hide a marble under, say, a hat, then puppet A leaves the room. Then have puppet B move the marble elsewhere. Then you bring puppet A back into the room. You ask the test subject where puppet A would look for the marble. People like Chris would say puppet A would look under the hat where puppet B moved the marble to.

Even if you really pester someone like Chris to think hard about it, and really give them an opportunity to think about it, they will often fail this test.

Scale this problem up and expose someone like CWC unsupervised to a malicious crowd of internet dipshits (like myself, when I was a young man), and you get the contents of the CWCki.

I think Russ probably isn't as bad as Chris. He's probably more blinded by his emotions, rage, horniness, and raging horniness, that he simply doesn't calm down long enough to think about other people. I get the feeling that it's less a cognitive disorder with him, and he's just a selfish shit.

But I wouldn't be surprised if he's got a touch of the 'tism too.

Edit: oops, I got it backwards, yeah the correct answer is under the hat, not where it was moved to.

OK, this might be telling on myself, but wouldn't puppet A look for the marble where it last left it, under the hat?
I looked up the Sally-Anne test just to be sure, and it does seem like the right answer is that the puppet doesn't know the marble was moved and expects it to be where it last left it, but you write the rest of the post as if Chris would be wrong for saying that

And I still think Chris could easily believe other people don't know something he does. Believing other people know something HE DOESN'T I think would be much harder for him to accept

He has a theory of mind. Outside of severe mental redardation, lacking one entirely is rare.
But his theory of mind is certainly less advanced than those of others. It's clearly subpar and underdeveloped.

Under the hat is the logical first place to look. Either the puppet doesn't know that the marble was moved, meaning it should still be under the hat, or the puppet suspects that the marble was moved, and looking under the hat is the only way to independently confirm it.

Furthermore, if the marble was moved, under the hat is the last place where you should look for it, and this makes it among the best places to hide it. Therefore, it is the first place where you should look for it.

Would it be accurate to say that Russell's theory of mind is worse than Chris Chan's?

It's probably easier for Chris to believe someone is stupid and doesn't know something, but if he thinks it's obvious, he might still be skeptical.

I like that he is so retarded he didn't even understand those things are crack pipes and obviously a prostitute would know that.
As funny as this idea is, it's not quite accurate. He didn't bring the prostitute one of those roses in a glass tubes, but rather a fake bouquet with a giant weight on the bottom that's meant to hold down balloons on a table.

Didn't he also bring her a copy of his Taylor Swift book, or was that a different time? I don't recall.

That was the time he went to Reno after bugging and stalking Lana West for months and knowing exactly what she charged.

He showed up with fake flowers, a heart balloon on a stick, and a copy of his book so his plights could get him a discount or something.

It was the "she wanted $$$$ but I only had $$$" trip. Where it was later found out Lana charged $1500 for an hour, Russ only brought something like $200, and he shuffled around between brothels before getting a pity handjob from a new girl.

Then went on Twitter to boast about how he fucked her so hard she couldn't walk, because he's a gentleman.

One Russell what if I wonder about is: what if Russell picked up the phone when Jay Schaudies called?

He still wouldn't have taken no for an answer, but at the very least when Russell said "It's not a song for Taylor Swift to do" he would've immediately replied that it doesn't matter, just ANY music at all can't be listened to, and after Russ kept being dense he'd probably just hang up and block.

Russell still would've sued, but he wouldn't have the Jay Schaudies audio to make a song out of. I also suspect talking to Jay Schaudies live would've stroked his ego more, making feel like he got much closer to Taylor Swift. Jay Schaudies might've also gotten Russ pegged right away and Taylor Swift's security team would've been on high alert from the get go, possibly getting a restraining order
