Snack Shack was a good movie and what was surprising was they didn’t include an out of place minority in corn fed Nebraska just to tick the boxes, there’s one old black guy in the movie which would be the case in 90’s Nebraska not near Omaha or Lincoln. If it was made by the Dinner in America director I should check it out now.

They never said anything about Lawd Dem Rings on Amazon, did they?

Mid-year HITB.
Huh, I guess they are never going to review Dune Part 2...sad. Also the fact, that Mike and Jay think Indie movies are good...clearly they haven't seen Civil War which is awful. I mean granted Indie movies made a whole lot of money but Dune Part 2 did as well. So yeah, middling HITB but maybe the next video will be much better.

They will review Dune Part 2, once they get to The Batman and last year's Mission Impossible, and I do mean that I agree, they will never ever review any of them for HitB

Do people still give them shit for the Phantom Meance review?

Honestly, I think that criticism's mostly died down now that Disney Star Wars is an actual thing. While the Phantom Menace review (for the time it was released) was completely valid, I think most folks have largely moved on to shitting on Disney. Even people who say Phantom Menace was complete dogshit now view it more favorably than anything in the Nu Trilogy.

I mean a few pages ago ITT and several people in the Star Wars thread blame the Sequel Trilogy on RLM and act like people started to hate the prequels because of their review and hired JJ because RLM said he'd be good for Star Wars (they were not the only ones to say this btw)

Shame, I enjoyed his mocking of the Disney wars stuff, but some comments in that vid and this news is disappointing. :(

Still, an example of how Plinkett will probably outlive RLM and still be mentioned in SW discussions for years to come. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if future historians become convinced Plinkett was a real person who's critique of a major cultural institution of the world's superpower at the time caused a massive upheaval and revolution.

Note this is a joke about historians and SW nerds, not the RLM guys.

I kid about liking Jay, but you can disregard any opinions he has also considering the fact that he is held up as any kind of a movie reviewer at all, even a lowly YouTube slob, yet has only recently screened his 1st Spaghetti Western.
Ditto for Mike, because he made a reference to Ferris fucking Bueller for no good goddamn reason at all except to annoy the shit out of me.
Whoever said the only reason to watch was the HITB story was right.

In their Dune video, Jay is clearly interested in Dune because David Lynch directed it. Villeneuve does not make movies like Lynch, so of course he isn't interested. He's not into Dune in general, and based on the Dune thread we have here, most aren't.

People have been blaming them for how shit the Disney trilogy is because apparently Jar Jar Abrahms and Ruin Johnson both watched the Plinkett reviews and made the movies based on those criticisms.

I see that narrative, I get the gut impulse behind it but the sequels are so much worse. I fail to see how one could argue they're a response of how to make Star Wars based on Plinket's critiques of the prequels. On the face of that claim it'd suggest thought was put into the story of the sequels. As opposed to, "remake A New Hope but with a chick that's also a sequel." While putting no thought to what actually would be a follow up story or what fans would want.
