I am not sure if this was mentioned but the reason why Scandinavians did not give food to for example their kids friend coming over to play is because it can be seen as an insult, it is kind of like saying "I will give you food because your family can not feed you".
This is also not really the case anymore, if you have guests over as an adult it is usually for dinner and if your kids friend is over and it is lunch time they will be fed if they are not going home for lunch nowadays.

A 'jeet tried to scam a high school science competition for 55k USD:
ISEF (International High School Science Fair) is a multi-stage competition for high schoolers with science fair projects that go beyond the usual baking soda volcanoes. Winning the main event nets you a 50k grant and a 5k cash prize, in addition to practically guaranteeing admission to your university of choice.
This year's winner was a 17 year old saar named Krish Pai. He claimed to have redeemed a deep learning algorithm capable of identifying bacterial strains that can degrade plastics. Of course, a project combining the hot topics of AI and environmental bullshit had good chances from the get-go, and Pal ended up placing first after a panel of PhD judges examined his project.
After his win, a google docs file began to circulate alleging (more like proving beyond any reasonable doubt) that this project was fraudulent from top to bottom. His results were either plagiarized or faked entirely. For example, he took an image from a different paper showing the biodegradation of plastics, mirrored it, and then passed it off has his own work.
He also stole a bunch of figures from other papers that made no sense in the context of his project.
He also stole an NIR spectrometer design and also tried to pass it off as his own. He then proceeded to fake the data from that spectrometer. In fact, a large chunk of his project was stolen from an earlier ISEF project about a very similar topic.
As for his final results: The central claim of his project was that his algo managed to identify two novel strains capable of degrading plastics. Turns out that those strains had been known since the 90s. His project cited the very paper that identified them a casual 30 years ago.
His alleged deep learning model was most likely imaginary as well. The sections describing it were nonsense technobabble glued together by vaguely AI-related buzzwords and faked training evaluations.
But this is a scorpion-and-frog type situation. Is a 'jeet scamming people really news?
The real kicker here is that such an obviously, overtly, extremely, fake and gay project not only made it past the PhD judges, but won the entire competition. Not that you'd need anything more than a high school degree to realize something isn't right. Look at the image below, and try to find out what's wrong with it. Last 15 minutes are Tom and Ruben just in shock that the interview went so well in finally wearing this serial harasser down despite lying to their faces for an hour. This happened like two weeks ago and I couldn't believe you never talked about it on stream because it's too perfect. A Californian man named Robert McDougal had his butthole and intestines stolen from him by local mengele reenactor and Californian doctor Jared Frattini. This is has caused him to have never ending painful diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome.
Robert reacted to this as you would expect from a reasonable person by going completely fucking insane and becoming violently obsessed with dr.Frattini. there was a complaint for the police about him threatening and I quote "unspeakable violence."
The videos of him screaming about his hatred of Jared are some of the most entertaining things I've ever watched.
It's like if someone took the character AM from I have no mouth and I must scream and rewrote his speech about hating humans and changed it to be from a spindly Californian of questionable sexuality. There's multiple videos like this too because he makes it very explicit that he thinks about hurting this doctor for stealing his asshole every second of every day.
