I’m going to toss out a few other scenarios that nobody has thought of

- The kids are home schooled. This means they are not being seen daily by teachers and other mandatory reporters. But they do still need to be checked out and tested at the end of each semester. The people they go to don’t see them daily, but probably do see them a few times a year. Look at the pictures of Nick and Kayla and how much they changed over the past few months. How much have the kids changed? Somebody in the school system may have flagged to something not being right. Mandatory Reporters.

- one or more of the kids might have spilled to the Grandparents. Imagine how Nick might have taken an inquiry from either set? Result someone calls it in because of the kids.
