The incident was reported on May 16th 2024.
I may be late with this, but “mandatory reporting” is going to be a legal term, so that narrows down the possible list of people who could have made the report. Here is who it could possibly be according to the Minnesota department of health and human services.

Abuse/neglect doesn't need to be explicitly divulged to the mandatory reporter, if someone notices changes in the children, like malnourishment, that's enough to go to the cops with. Given how often the children are around the people at church, changes would most definitely be noticed.
I saw the church vid and honestly both his oldest and second oldest look a bit way too thin and small for what seems to be a 16 year old (the oldest) doing sports. Well I think Nick said the kids did soccer... I mean sure the way nick talked about them, they sounded like nerds too but I don't remember me or my school mates being that small at 16.

I am a mandatory reporter. A bunch of us are by virtue of our occupations.

Bet you the Rekieta family had more than one person calling to report them. Nick will have nobody to blame. His old schtick of being wholesome probably made his audience more likely to be mandatory reporters. This was inevitable once his private vices spilled out onto his streams.

Drugs on-screen + house with kids = I have an obligation to report you

I didn't expect him to get caught. Maybe the drugs burned out his last few brain cells, but even junkies have the common sense to flush their stash when CPS shows up at the front door.
I expected him to eventually catch a DUI, not this shit. But then again, he might have been high as fuck when the cops showed up (although he looks somewhat sober on the booking foto).

these kids dont go to school, they go to homeschool cooperative meetings held at the homes of other families from the area
maybe one of the parents at those meetings called the cops because the rekieta kids came in smelling of weed

The other homeschool teaching parents, operating in their capacity as teachers, are the reporters imo. In person really narrows it down and if my kids were ever expected to go to racket’s house to “learn“… the parents needed to only watch one stream to see what’s going on—and imagine they found this thread describing their fellow homeschooling parent.

This mandatory reporter thing does not completely exclude a-logs. Someone that is mandatory reporter could be contacted by someone with concerning information. In that case it would be most likely child protective services.

Just if someone thinks Nick can't faggot about Farms.
1: that’s definitely not likely, if someone wanted to alog like that, they’d call the cops, not his church or whatever

2: this doesn’t matter anyway because he is literally living in a junkie polycule and doing drugs everyday and neglecting his kids, so it’s not fucking alogging or swatting. It’s a legitimate real concern. So even if the evil farms was behind it, that just makes us fucking based heroes

What do you guys think even happened that made it get to a mandatory reporter?
Kid mentioning problems most likely. It does not have to be much.
I can’t imagine one of his kids being like “yeah my dad is drunk all the time etc etc”. It’s a possibility though
I can if they are concerned and then not fully grasping the result that might happen because of it.

Happens a lot.

It’s why CPS is often lenient and helpful the first time because the child is concerned and just wants their parents back to normal.

Problem with the Rackets is Nick is wildly known online so dtandard procedure will blow the fuck up and be everywhere.

I don't think people can. This came up when Jim was being swatted. People were saying they would swat Jim and FOIA the video. It turned out that there were legal protections around this. Can't remember exactly what they were, but the videos were private unless there was some good reason to release them.
I think the biggest reason Swat videos are not given out is because on these videos police can be heard confirming that they know it is a Swatting.

Videos with police knowing of the phenomena of swatting can make it harder for police if they respond to a swatting and end up shooting someone. So in order to protect themselves they do not release the videos.

Alternatively there is a very good argument to never release a swatting video, since this in turn will encourage people to do more swatting.

Now in this case, a celebrity, it is bound to be released in some form.

Yeah not church but child protective services. I have no numbers but I assume it would not be first lolcow to be snitched to CPS
Is CPS the mandatory reporters to the police? I was under the assumption that a mandatory reporter, reported him to the CPS who then reported him to the police.

It's interesting that the report was made directly to the cops, because apparently that should only be done if the child is either in direct physical danger, or if the offender works at a private school or is a non-family caretaker. Now call me a schizo but couldn't April be considered such a non-family caretaker?
It depends some reports will go to officers if the CPS system is overwhelmed. If I have to put a report in and the CPS line is busy (this does happen quite often) if I beleive there is imminent harm I can report it to an officer. From what I've seen of Reiketa and I do not really follow him it would be enough for me to call an officer if CPS were busy.

Also there are some mandated reporters who do not trust CPS and will call officers first.

And if the accusation is bad enough or there is prior experiece that CPS will be treated poorly CPS will come with officers
