I agree that the slow trickle was unlikely to be the way to go as far as maximizing profits goes, but he definitely didn't make it empty-handed. I'm not too familiar with his podcast, but it seems like this has already been a large windfall compared to his usual yield.
If the speculation were true, and I'm not entirely convinced that it is, I really doubt that simple past consumption of drugs would be something they'd prosecute unless there's something big we don't know. If they want to put Nick and/or Kayla away, sure, but with the large amounts we're talking about, my instinct would have been that they'd go to the Rekietas to try and figure out who their supplier is and go up that chain as much as they can. It's also a possibility that April's just someone they're not interested in prosecuting either at all or so viciously because she was a guest in their home and there's an easier argument to be made for her, especially with her lesser charges.

Incriminating Aaron...for what? Unless he has a stack of cocaine in his sock drawer, some illegal guns, or is committing wire fraud, all that can really be said about him is that he did drugs. That's not enough for a prosecutor to pursue him. The worst thing that could (and maybe should) happen to him is that his ex-wife moves to modify their child custody arrangement on the basis of him knowingly bringing his kids around junkies and drugs.

Well Nick was utterly retarded and talked to the cops. The police report states twice that he told the cops that him and his wife reside in the master bedroom, where the majority of the drugs, drug paraphernalia, and weapons were found, and that April was just a family friend visiting.
