In the absence of a guilty plea though, a plea of mitigation like this is unlikely to cut much ice. Courts want to see some evidence that you're seriously engaged in the process of recovery. That would involve admitting your previous flaws and errors. It would depend on the circumstances, but in most cases -- certainly in a case as cut and dried as Nick's -- they'd probably see a not guilty plea as a refusal to take responsibility and so would probably be very sceptical of the recovery narrative.

I actually leaned towards that theory, but after seeing Our Wife willingly endanger the kids I'm leaning more towards maybe she's codependent, but also a shitty fucking person. 4. The constant talking about "Lol, which liquor should I drink first for the next ____ stream?" How about doing one sober?

I mean the state doesn't need anymore evidence than it already has to convict them, and as others have pointed out it would actually be helpful for Nick during sentencing with a Judge who has plenty of reasons to throw the book at him. Unless there was a major procedural fuckup and Nick can move to exclude the cocaine as evidence (which doesn't seem likely from what we know right now), I really don't see what defenses Nick can run with here.

Your evidence that Kayla is mentally ill and pilled out is Nick, the same as the evidence that she's a swinger BPD whore.
