In the original campaign $2Million was a stretch goal to unlock the ability to buy a Yaira statue.
It was not labeled the Yaira statue.

The existence of two statues was not made known to the buyers. However, the "[LOCKED]" stretch goals that are followed by "?????" next to "$10k" are the same thing. Any unannounced stretch goal at launch, is the same thing as revealing that the TRUE stretchgoal at $2Million is a second statue. I can't see a difference between this and an average CG stretch goal list.

If we really wanna follow this down a rabbit hole, Ethan gave bonuses to Kyle Ritter as stretch goals for the campaign that were revealed once the number was reached. So, how ethical are we talking? Asking backers to foot the bill on your bonuses? Or preparing late campaign surprises to push the sales to a big finish? Again, no different than the average CG IGG campaign.

The allegation is that they wouldn't reach 2 million, so they announced the statue early. But they don't want to say that this is the 2 million goal that wouldn't be reached, so they add a second statue that may or may not be reached as a goal. Both purchasable, not free.

And I just don't see why I, as a customer, should care. If this was an EVS situation, where I was pre-ordering an item I'd maybe receive in 4 years, I would understand the hesitation. The format of these Rippaverse campaigns makes these points moot though.

Maybe Von is a secret Rippaverse investor worried about the return on investment.
