I think a large part of his screen persona was designed around stroking the egos of more senior lawyers and appealing to older people. He was a small town awe schucks lawyer when it suited him and it took a while for him to allow swearing on his streams after appealing to the anime crowd.

Sean said something akin to “Nick is someone you could easily rob”, but I think that was part of the persona. He’s always ready to help and giving, unless he’s busy with his kids (can’t blame him for that, riiiight). I think that was just a way to network or have experts for panels (when he did panel shows).

Once you stepped on his ego he’d get spiteful and passive aggressive. He wanted you to burn a bridge to point at something to cast blame. He wanted Null to express his distaste and likely he could cry about that.
