I watched the full twenty minute clip rather than the three minute one and Kurt is a giant autist. Raich, this is not, yet, the majority view.

I think it would take overturning the FDR-era Wickard v. Filburn decision to get rid of this overreaching federal bullshit, or at least seriously trimming its wings, as it were.

Thus, "Scandinavian prudes" became a thing in the thread, but it wasn't something Nick actually said.

The obvious thing for me would be for the cops to wait just a bit down the road and pull in when racket is leaving his driveway. They are well aware that if he was in the house he'd probably dump the stash, so catching him outside is the best way to preserve evidence. There's also divide and conquer tactics, you don't want your suspects to talk and get an unified story. Easier to catch lies this way. Got some LEO family that uses that tactic for busts

Most people who end up in jail were huge pieces of shit for a long time before they finally get locked up. It's almost never the case that someone who is otherwise decent fucks up once and goes straight to the slammer (unless it's something really exceptional like a fatal DUI accident). People who end up in prison were usually huge net negatives to their communities for a long time, possibly their whole lives, before they finally get removed from society for a while. In that way you could argue the state is often too lenient or too permissive as such people basically never reform on their own, without facing any real consequences first.
