Games Journalism General

It's really hard to overstate how few people know how to competently self-host. The fact that all major hosting platforms are incredibly pozzed significantly harms freedom of information and the average person's ability to publish.
At this point you may as well be the poster child of internet preservation so I must ask, would you ever consider making some sort of guide or a jumping-off point on self-hosting like you have done with internet privacy matters?

How is collecting publicly available information a "privacy invasion"? I genuine don't get it.
Ever since Goonergate the games news industry has been fighting tooth and nail to cover up the fact that they have a say in these games. Why is it so important? I have no fucking idea, most everything they touch sucks.
I feel after Alec Holowka killed himself over provably false accusations they really kicked it into gear, can't make a woman hold accountability for her actions!
I think it's just the "nerd club with the one girl they all want to fuck" phenomenon but expanded into an entire industry. Truly remarkable.

Is there a list of people who had articles about them made on the site?
Kotaku: Carolyn Petit, Alyssa Mercante, Kenneth Shepard, David Smith,Cecilia D' Anastasio, Levi Winslow, Tina Snow Aegyo, Levi Plunkett,
Friends of Kotaku: Jeff Grubb, Nick Calandra, Anita Sarkeesian, Jake Steinberg, Paul Scott Canavan, Kevin nye,
???: Maya Felix Kramer, Megan Farokhmanesh, Jules Hardy, Ashley Cooper, Chris Kindred.
Rest were found from scrolling list at 3:25 on this video

I never got why anyone took a "professional games journalist" seriously. They sit on there ass to speed through the new hottest release to try and explain why Mario is a communist working to overthrow the oppressive Bowser government keeping the POC down.
The gaming industry is a dumpster fire right now cause gamers are the ultimate consumers and have 0 impulse control. Go look at the suicide squad forum on steam. "I heard this game is bad, but it's only 25 bucks so I bought it." You shouldn't fucking reward back practices period.

Now imagine gaming journalism with 0 cost of entry for a consumer, they just eat that shit up. I think the main problem is that all the gamergate faggots started focusing on loli and other degenerate shit rather than going after advertisers. There's so many shit sites like mashable where you ask yourself "who the fuck is reading this shit?" the problem is that advertising revenue is too much and if people actually put down the bread and circus and started hitting these advertisers then this cancer could be cut out.

I can almost guarantee most of these gaming journalists had/have LinkedIn profiles. Just earlier today I was googling a pop culture nerd writer I loved reading back in the late 2000’s and found his current whereabouts and his complete job history through LinkedIn and Twitter.

These people are clowns.

Wix has taken down @SmashJT's website for Kotaku Identified, a blog which tracked games journalists who moved on from Kotaku including to video game development. They've mass-reported his blog for privacy invasions, so Wix stole his domain and the archive of his entire blog.

Oy vey.
