I don’t have too much experience with coke users, but plenty with alcoholics over the decades.

I bartended my way through college, so spent lots of time with the weeknight drunks who were there every day. Plus I had a few in the family.

And I noticed that after a certain age, or a certain number of years in the grips of severe addiction , it stopped mattering if they were drinking anymore, their brains were permanently fried.

There just isn’t going all the way back after a certain point, even if you quit drinking. You will be slower, and stupider, and repeating yourself forever. Your fun-loving, party personality from early drinking never comes back. You are dull, boring, and slurring even when sober.

That’s not counting the other physical effects of long term alcohol abuse.

I've known some coke addicts via various vidya guilds and they all acted like Nick. Paranoid, detached from reality and NEVER WRONG. They certainly would never admit to a problem no matter how much drug induced drama they caused. I'd never touch that shit.

I don't think Nick wanted Aaron to leave. On Kino Casino Aaron said that Nick got really mad when Aaron left and it boiled down to Aaron having led on Nick's wife. I'm not sure the mental gymnastics Nick was doing, but he must have viewed Aaron as the guy to keep Kayla happy, so when Aaron left Kayla, Nick was emotionally hurt as well. Some of Aaron's stories seemed fabricated a bit, but the part about Nick getting pissed about Aaron leading on his wife really stuck with me.

I do think he grasped something a lot of people have missed, which is why anyone admired Nick in the first place, but I kind of lost interest in the gay Vic part. On it's own it's just what it sounds like - Aaron claimed that on one particularly memorable day, he and Kayla went out into the yard and made snow angels out of, I guess, giddy ecstasy. It's only interesting because it's part of his narrative that he and Kayla were deeply and truly in love with each other - compared to Nick, who was sinking deeper into paranoia and impotence, while the only snow April ever saw was going up her nose.

Yeah, somebody will argue that it's very easy to kick Rekieta while he's down, and that it makes for good content. But Aaron just gives the vibe that he's seething, has indeed been seething for a while, and once the emotions came out they came out in a flood of Biblical proportions.

Before Nick was arrested, Aaron was left to quietly seethe, while Nick was fucking both Kayla and April. I wouldn't be surprised if he rubbed it in his face, too, especially after April moved into Nick's place (By the way, doesn't that mean he lied to the cops when he said she was just visiting?)

But after he was arrested, Nick lost all the leverage he might have had over Aaron. Now, Nick cannot just sue him for defamation or whatever else Aaron might have been scared of, because Nick would need to divulge information which could easily land him in prison for 20+ years.

Nick's house of cards came crashing down with that arrest and it's only going to get worse from here. Now, the loudmouthed wannabe-lawyer needs to be tight-lipped. I don't know how much Aaron is still secretly seething, but it probably doesn't hold a candle to how much Nick is seething right now - he probably gave himself another black eye!

Finally finished the Kino Casino with Aaron Amhole. I agree with the prevailing thread speculation that Aaron is lying to present himself in the best light.

Specifically, I think he’s lying about his personal level of drug use. What he’s probably trying to hide is he was just as much of a junkie as the rest of them. I think he feels comfortable lying because Nick, Kayla, and April will never be able to press him on that openly without incriminating themselves. The real reason he was kicked out of the polycule was because Nick is a control freak and wanted both women to himself. They’ve probably been having coke-fueled threesomes.

All the wife-swapping stuff is probably true though. Basically, anything that makes Aaron look bad is true and anything that makes him look good is an embellishment.

I am sympathetic to anyone who wants to make a real argument. The problem is the details in Nick's case undermines and goes against the libertarian worldview of functional individuals working autonomously to form a free society. Nick's flaws are so transparent.

Nick isn't a responsible drug user.
Nick isn't a responsible gun owner.
Nick isn't even a responsible parent.

Nick can't be trusted to do the right thing.
Nick always demands he be given more privileges while denying any accountability.
Imagine a world where everyone behaves like Nick Rekieta and Dick Masterson.

I think the thing that's really frustrating is that the lawtubers (and Nick) are very fucking clearly using this as an excuse for Nick's behaviour. "Sure he's a piece of shit but the warrant was unconstitutional".

If we lived in 2020 and the cops busted down Nick's door and found drugs, and Nick said "I fucked up so much guys. I am getting off the Internet to reconnect with my faith and repent for my sins and go to rehab. However I also think that the warrant was unconstitutional" people would be very sympathetic. But that's not even remotely the world we're in. Instead we're in a world where Nick knows there is no justification for his behaviour, so the closest thing he's found is the constitutionality question.

The absence of guilt precedes the justification. Nick never felt guilt for his actions, and he probably never will with all of the dicksuckers in his corner affirming his nonsensical justification.
