There's been a rash of FB accounts lately advertising macaque adoption. These people blatantly don't have any monkeys, let alone the necessary legal permits etc to ship macaques.

It does however give some figleaf for the transaction by which people are sending these accounts money to be sent monkey torture videos. "Oh I thought I was adopting!! I am too retarded to understand I wouldn't get a monkey! Or even better, I thought I was just paying to sponsor this monkey, this guy in Cambodia was defo going to take superb care of this 'abandoned newborn' for me with my $200!"

They all ask for $50 upfront and $200 in total, which is... pretty much the amount the monkey torturers generally wanted for a custom murder torture video.
