I mean I can get it if you were referring to Angry Joe, Todd, Lindsay, or hell even Phelous to some extent. But all?!

Playing the professional card is absolutely laughable in this case. Joe is the only one of the big six of Channel Awesome who managed to breakthrough into something bigger in the traditional sense. Lindsay Ellis is the most blatant artificial platforming I have ever seen. She is also is still just a YouTuber with her dumb video essays.

But that is besides the point. Who cares about being in professional fields when none of them are happy? Doug for everything he has been through seems to be happy with how things are going for him, and Channel Awesome as a brand (or what is left of it) seems to actually be doing better after the exodus occurred.

Ellis on the other hand is an alcoholic who is making great strides into one day having liver failure. Joe is am increasingly fat and miserable asshole who was burned down whatever was left of his reputation with his behavior over the years.

Honestly, I don’t know if I consider Doug a real cow anymore.

To me, at least, a cow is someone perpetually unable to grow, unwilling to self-reflect, and frequently in the wrong.

I just don’t see Doug like that anymore. I feel like he’s kind of looked in the mirror. Like he gets it now, he finds the joke funny.

Sure, that doesn’t excuse stuff he has done, but he’s at least owned up to it and is looking to change and improve.

I never thought he was dumb, he maybe just didn’t understand why people viewed him the way he did, or how to handle certain situations.

I think he was a cow, certainly in the beginning. But, maybe not anymore.

I would still say he is because he's not funny and his takes are very child-like. The difference is that he's harmless and the goobers here treat him like the little kid they let hang with the Highschool kids at the "cool" table.

At this point I think he's the litmus test. Is someone more embarrassing than Doug Walker? Lolcow. Are they less embarrassing? Not a lolcow.

Doug hasn't done anything particularly dumb or embarrassing in years and even then his stuff was minor and harmless compared to a lot of others on this site. He's just some guy putting out fairly meh youtube content. The Spongebob thing and now this with Smiling Friends has made him look a lot better recently.

Most people don’t really think of him as one anymore. Or at the very least, not a very big one. There’s a few people on here very dedicated to hate him, but overall I thing he’s looked at as a kinda cringy but overall chill guy.

Alternatively, people don’t like the Nostalgia Critic the character but enjoy Doug as he is.

I think at the very least he is the only person with a thread, that I am are of, that isn't a horrible person. I know we aren't about morality, but I think Doug is only worth discussing because he is inately a very interesting person. Sometimes he is chill, sometimes he does incredibly cringy stuff.

Either way, he is a source of laughs, but he isn't a source of hate, pity, or scorn, like the vast majority of this site. Or Channel Awesome for that matter. Just a flawed chill guy that sometimes fails spectacularly. In a site that documents pedos, groomers, zoophiles, school shooters, narcs, scammers, etc, Doug's worst offenses are sometimes making bad unfunny, or cirngy content, and terrible bussiness desicions.

I think his biggest mistake in life was starting Channel awesome in the first place. And only because he gave carreers tro ungrateful leeches that never ever did anything for him.

Mr. Boss should be Melvin, the brother of the Joker.
I can at least see the logic in the art because Allan was the Joaquin Phoenix Joker in "A Silly Halloween Special". Glep being Emo Jones is such a deep cut though, since that's a flop practically nobody talks about, whereas Melvin was particularly infamous back in the day.

I don't think that Doug Walker is a lolcow.

His biggest crime is making content that isn't funny to a lot of people, and having some "bad" takes about media. That doesn't really have anything to do with his personal life, though.

Doug Walker also takes online criticism (and even flat-out mockery) so much better than the vast majority of the internet. Lolcows don't have the capability to take in ANY sort of criticism, whereas Doug kind of embraces it. Doug also appears to be very well-aware of how lucky he is to be making a living from doing this stuff. He constantly expresses gratitude for it.

Yeah, his review of Pink Floyd's The Wall is not good at all (to put it mildly) ... But we don't see Doug having an internet history that outs his dead muppet gang bang fetishes, lol. Nor do we see him making constant social media posts and/or videos defending himself against "haters."

So yeah ... I do not classify Doug Walker as a lolcow.

This thread is more about the drama that surrounds Doug than Doug himself. Doug, whether you consider him to be a cow or not, is very good at staying out of the spotlight and braving stormy weather. He can fail miserably like in the case of Demo Reel or The Wall, but survive the fallout just by keeping quiet. His former alumni however just love running their mouths on Twitter and that's where the milk is

There are too little actually well intentioned non vitriolic consistent people on the internet that its hard to hate plain stupidity or retardation anymore like in the case of Doog and James. At least James is a bit more hateable as of late cause hes sold out and become a content mill, Doog is just bald funny man with a peanut brain.

I think the most fundamental reason why doug is not a cow is simply the fact he actively distances himself from drama and goes out of his way not to get involved in retarded internet slapfights.

Even when he had the #changemuhchannel mob shrieking for his blood on social media for years, even when his review of The Wall became the fashionable thing to hate for months, he just kept the hell out of any social media screaming matches and focused on his work and what made him happy. During that whole miserable era when all pop culture seemed to be just DRUMPF BAD DRUMPF BAD DRUMPF BAD he stayed the hell out that malignant cancer and focused on his own benign little polyp

Contrast the likes of Fatrick Tomlinson who managed to turn his fucking lawn chairs into a weeks long internet slapfight because he moved heaven and earth to oink on all his social media about the stalkerchild conspiracy to steal shit from his backyard.

A real cow can turn even the most minute and petty bullshit into glorious cawntent. Doug was made the centre of *multiple* internet retard jihads and he just shrugged and moved on with his life.

Exactly. Whenever there's some sort of internet hoopla or drama that is somehow connected to him (whether that be stuff like #ChangeTheChannel or a huge influx of criticism over his review of The Wall), Doug just seems unbothered by it all. He doesn't rage or seethe on twitter about it, nor does he get in the mud with everyone else when an internet slap fight happens.

He doesn't go on censoring sprees if the internet is talking about him, either.

Dude just appears to go with the flow and he just does his own thing. That makes him unqualified to be a lolcow in my book.

The same conversation about Doug happens in this thread at least once per month. Pendulum tries to swing time and time again, but he remains lolcowless all the same
And in the end, the only lolcows in this thread are former TGWTG/CA contributors and its former fans themselves
