I'm not exactly a neat freak but I'll run the dishwasher and pick up every couple days. One of my exes on the other hand was a hoarder with a bewildering ability to generate trash and general mess. You have to be very on top of keeping up with everything. If I left for a week or month for work I would come back to a stunning disaster, and that was just one woman alone in her apartment alone (with a few pets, in fairness).

From the sounds of it, Aaron was doing the overwhelming bulk of the housework (ala laundry and dishes) in a house with 9 people plus a dog. Once Aaron left those 8 remaining people would have to pick up the slack or you'll get the disaster for which we've got everything short of photos within an extremely short of time.
