I don't want to sound like I'm batting for nick, but I do like to believe the justice system is fair despite being proven wrong so many times, but I like to think that she knows he may have made those statements while under the influence and was not in a proper state of mind. But now that more details about the child neglect have come out I don't see them going that easy on him anymore.

I'm on the phone with a very nice lady from the MN AG office who's trying to help me figure out all this body cam sillyness! I'm recording it so if anything interesting happens I'll update. She just came back after having me on hold for about 10 minutes telling me she's still working on finding more info and making phone calls. Surprisingly she had never heard of ol Balldo until now. "I've called 17 numbers and no one is answering today."

Edit: She said she tried calling everyone she could possibly think of but couldn't get a hold of anyone. Ended up just giving me this email and said someone would get in contact with me if I sent an email. Said she wasn't sure if the body cam footage could be released to a private citizen or not.

The state trial court judges I knew were very earnest about their attempts to be fair to litigants, even when they knew the litigants from private practice/prior experience, or when the litigants acted in an offensive way towards the judge. Who knows if this applies to Fischer, but I wouldn't assume a judge who has been reelected a couple of times in rural Minnesota (even though she was initially appointed by a democrat governor) is going to adjudicate unfairly. She might have made bad legal decisions in the past, depending on how much we trust Rekieta's stories, but that doesn't make her a biased judge automatically.

Funnily enough, I looked into the judge and it turns out both she and Rekieta went to the same law school. Or rather, the law schools they both went to have merged together, so now they're both alumni of the same school. I don't think it changes anything, but it's funny that one alum became a respected member of society and a judge, whereas the other became a drug addict and child neglecter.

This is one of Nick's worse personality traits and in the end, it will be the one that does him in. He hates authority, any kind of authority. If you want Nick to do more of something, ask him not to it. He will do it out of pure spite, that someone had the gall to tell him what to do. Everyone telling him he needs to sober up, take care of his personal issues, and get healthy; just by the fact people are telling him to do that, he's going to double-down. This is why I think Barnes and Viva are actually dangerous for Nick; they're actively alluding that "Nick did nothing wrong". They're incentivizing Nick to double-down and even fight these charges, which will be a MASSIVE mistake. If he tries to fight this, he will 100% get jail time.
