Nick is not so absurdly rich to have $100k in cash sitting around. People with more money than Nick, at least those good with it, will tend to have to it making money for them, even the cash they would like to have readily available. A reasonable five figure saving for immediate use, a money market account to draw more from, a variety of CDs that mature at different time to be used if necessary, investments they can more easily liquidate, etc. Rich people have assets and some cash on hand, not a Scrooge McDuck money vault in their checking account.
I don't think anybody at this point expects him to cough up $100k, but it is fucking weird that he pays the 10% of his $50k bond ($5K), but no word on Kayla yet. The reasonable assumption therefore is she's still on conditional release.

Unless that doc is gonna drop next..

Just because she is probably more capable of raising the kids better if she got clean. Nick's a narcissist so he will never care about them.
Counterpoint. Kayla has whorish tattoos. She was never a good mother and was zonked on legal prescriptions watching StarTrek long before cocaine and ecstasy.

Not that Nick doesn't but maybe Kayla really needs and she knows it/ family pressure?

Haven't watched any of his streams for months now but thought he had his shit together. Like I would agree with 90% of his takes and thought he walked the tightrope of being a milquetoast traditional conservative and based pretty damn well. So I lost so much respect for him when I found out that he got busted with an ounce of coke (that's 3-4 grands worth, like seriously) and most likely has been neglecting the kids for god knows how long.

Anybody with a decent grasp of the law give the over/under on Nick going to prison? My instinct is he's a favourite to either dodge prison or get the equivalent of a "suspended" sentence (probation?). If he dodges prison, what's the over/under on him and Kayla losing custody over the kids?

Do we even know where Kayla is right now? Should could’ve gone off to rehab to try to get the kids back faster since that’s supposedly the thing she cares about the most? I feel like Nick would be fine with his wife getting clean and dealing with the kids while he acts like a degenerate without her.

Guaranteed they lose the kids from 12-18 months even if they get clean. If they don’t get clean they don’t get the kids back. Nick is a first time offender, he has lots of options to avoid prison if he doesn’t go all ODD and fuck himself over. The judicial system deals with addicts all the time and wants to avoid spending money on prison if rehab and services can fix the issue. Especially if there was no physical harm to anyone.

Yes and no. Those other 3 are directly associated with actual crimes. They would find it extremely difficult and dangerous to try and implicate someone else because it would tend to bounce back on them. They can't really get Aaron (as far as I know) without damaging their own legal position.

That this great plot to get Aaron is supposedly led by an incredibly stupid comicsgate whore (Ana) makes it even less credible.
I don't think Nick is getting out of this. I just think he would try to sink Aaron with him. He was caught with white powder on his nose. He is going down no matter what. It was in his house!!!

Legal Mindset/Andrew also seems to have come around. This dude is a weird one to me, he seems alright for the most part, but then he did all those streams with Drexel and went full in on the MGTOW/PUA shit and that's a level of cringe it's hard to come back from. Anyone know if he still does those?
He's found other niches these days. He used to cover a lot of Disney legal news. (Andrew used to practice in Florida as someone who would help corporations set up special tax districts among other things) Lately, he's moved onto V-Tuber coverage which has brought in big viewership numbers for him.

If he took a deal odds are good of avoiding prison, but he appears to intend to go full retard, be drunk and on drugs from now until trial, and force them to make an example of him.

If Kayla gets straight they might go for reuniting the family (usually the goal of CPS), but if Balldo is going to be drunk and on drugs still, they may say Kayla can only have custody if she gets rid of Balldo. Just because Balldo isn't under specific bail conditions doesn't mean he's allowed to commit more crimes and abuse the kids more.

People are also forgetting that the drugs are the least of his concern. When you're caught with illegal drugs it sucks. When you're caught with illegal drugs in the presence of firearms you're FUCKED. Especially if you've talked about your judge's vagina on YouTube.

No. The assumption is with him, but that's only an assumption predicated on it being her last known location that isn't the county jail.

I'm with @talk talk talk. I'd say give it a day or so, and see if her bond document drops too.

Legal Mindset is going on the Kino Casino right now. They're early tonight. Alex Stein is going to be there too to talk about why Vic cut Rackets off as if it wasn't clear.
Oh, I can't miss this one. Thanks for the heads up!

Remember when Nick did basically this exact thing with the Monica Rial and Ron Toye depositions? I may be remembering wrong, but he even got the deposition footage through some illicit means. Directly from Ty Beard, I think? So that positively the only way you could watch the depositions was with Nick's commentary. It pissed off the anime and grifter spheres SO much, it was glorious.
Might need to have a special animated/marquee kiwifarms.net watermark to defeat AI watermark removal which is more prevalent now. Or replay the stuff during a jumbo size MATI episode only with lots of pauses, and release the raw video a couple weeks later. Sorry if late and gay.

Its all up to him. The system will try hard to get him to agree to a rehab-based program rather than sending him to prison. But he has to agree. If he acts like a complete, unrepentant drug-fueled asshole and refuses to cooperate. Forces them to put him through a jury trial all the way to a verdict - then it becomes a whole lot more likely that they will send him to prison effectively for being a total fool.

You don't fight a case like this. No sane person fights a case like this. You cooperate. You make a deal. You do a program. You avoid prison.

But if Nick tries to fight this in court, the system as a whole could just get so totally pissed at him that they flush him away to prison for 3-5 years. Its especially likely if he does some kind of stupid political challenge in court during his trial.

Nick has already told them to go fuck themselves in about six different ways including the unconditional release which is a message to the prosecutors that he is NOT going to stop doing hard drugs.

I've seen deals offered to people even after conviction in a trial. But at this point, Nick seems like he is almost determined to be made an example of and do a prison term.
