If you're asking when was the last time someone, successfully or unsuccessfully, rebelled against a first world government, yeah it's been a while. Reason being that representative government is supposed to prevent situations where people have to get shot.

Define terms as in, when shit changed on a short time line. WW2 didn't change much for the yanks, other than being able to fake-brag about defeating hitler and glowing some japs.
Berlin wall didn't change much in the grand scheme of things. The sides just swapped; the west is degrading into a totalitarian shit hole and the east is becoming a peaceful place of prosperity, if you know, you know.

Upon further reflection after jerking it in the shower it might be more dire than we realize.
