Nick floated the idea because he wanted degen friends, Aaron fully jumped into it at the first chance to rub shoulders with an e-celeb after the Compound/Dabbleverse shit left him with no fame. That's why I don't think he was technically lying. He was definitely downplaying his role in the hedonism and making every minute good decision a huge deal, that's it. Admitting to Balldo dropping drugs in front of your child and STILL refusing to cut him off or call the CPS? Your own kids? Wew, that's something. When asked about Pure Pleasure, he didn't take the opportunity to make something up. The same applies to gay 90s.

Most of what he said can be cross referenced to the thread before it blew up, months in advance.
