Gamefaqs - An old gaming website that still exists somehow

Well it seems that earlier concerns about fandom taking over the site were completely right.

Also, has anyone noticed the new and updated rules?

Update. Can confirm that "hornyposting" includes even posting screenshots of cute or sexy girls from official media. The "objectification" rule is being played fully anally and as deranged as it gets. You can't "objectify" literal fictional less than objects now. If it's female characters that men like.

Fandom being every bit as ruinous, toxic and deranged as first feared.

They even outed the long time admin (SBAllen) running the site. Installing new (2023) accounts as admins. He chose to "step down" and "part ways" with fandom. They have a handful of new admins, including fandoim's "Director of Trust & Safety"

Here's what a "lead mod" had to say about the politics ban:

I brought this up on CE, but I can answer this here too. If a game has political theming it's of course fine to talk about that. I don't think anyone is going to be moderated for talking about the anti-capitalist themes of Final Fantasy VII. I don't think anyone is going to get moderated for talking about Wolfenstein either. As for that second comment. Anything that's say, a basic human right or even just a basic fact about reality? That's not political. Just because one particular group likes to make science and social denial their political points doesn't mean those things actually are politics. We're not going to go around moderating people for being Trans or talking about Trans issues just because right-wingers are trying to spin being trans into a political statement.

And if you want an idea about how this will be enforced.. Again, from a head mod replying to a post asking about what counts as "political":

To that end. The boycott of Hogwarts Legacy is an interesting case. On the one hand, the motivation for that boycott was to protest the original creator's views. This is, in my opinion, perfectly fine. We can call it politics if you want, but at the end of the day a single person's shitty views on a class of person she doesn't believe deserves equal rights just makes her a bigot. Not a political entity.

So even the most niche SJ politics are allowed by default and talking about or pointing out even censorship itself will probably be banned.

Another:

Feedback on Statements - Team GameFAQs Message Board - Page 3 - GameFAQs.png

They don't even try to hide it. This is one of the people running the mod staff for a while. Suddenly a lot makes sense.

The topic has a lot of the usual suspects also worrying about the lack of silencing and banning of "GG types" and discussions about censorship and SJ crap in games, and it not being counted/censored enough. Even a few complaining about the efforts against "sexism" not being enough. I haven't looked at the accounts in detail but this feels like a ResetEra and reddit invasion. A coup in everything but name.. Taking advantage of the new woke ownership. Basically overnight, the site has descended to ReeeEra lite levels of rules. No straight sexy/fanservice, hyperventilating about letter people and politics done as if debate was always on the edge of life or death stakes. (and OC the banning of the wrong opinions)

My favorite part though is that they closed the current events and other such boards, banned all politics posting everywhere but one board, and then locked that board to anyone who hasn't posted in it enough in the past, has never been banned or warned before. No new members, no members who have ever got in any trouble. I mean the original politcs board already had an enforced narrative where prolonged disagreement with the correct view resulted in sudden banning after a while. But this is nuts.

Hell, they are even cracking down on bans and turning account bans into perma person bans. The site is a true walking dead at this point. The sudden drop in main site poll voting and activity over the last half year makes a lot of sense.

It seems like fandom is trying to kill off the boards completely. Which is in keeping with current corporate logic on fan discussion that isn't social media.

Does someone have like a torrent archive of all the old guides? We could at least keep the resource available. I seed a torrent of 1d4chan before the takeover, something like that.

This shit sucks, man. I just don't get why parallel systems are not being established to replace those being destroyed. Hell, I can't log on to a random community server or try to join a clan in Arma, Squad, Foxhole - hyper-masculine autistic detail military games with 99.9% male playerbases - without the clan/server's first rule being "ABSOLUTELY NO SEXISM/RACISM/ABLEISM/TRANSMISOGYNY; LIFETIME BAN ON FIRST OFFENSE; YES, CALLING SOMETHING "RETARDED" COUNTS!!!!"

I get that it's a different time and the internet is riddled with wicked, loathsome tranny neets with nothing better to do than dox you, get your shit taken down, and get you fired because you said something they dislike, but I miss the days when places like LL, /tg/, /v/, hell even SA all had their own projects going on and the drama was all personal shit about who didn't want to associate with who instead of someone "saying the r-word" or not thinking that trans women are literally women.

You can say we're never going back, but I'm not convinced, not yet. The will just has to be there.

It's a direct download but it still has most of the guides. It was posted a while ago on this thread back when Fandom first bought Gamefaqs but I can't be bothered to find the original post.

Subject: never let them destroy our inheritence
as i walk these reflective marble hallways and admire the ornate masterworks in their beautiful frames adorning the smooth walls, flagged on each side by delicate silver, i peer through the intricate stained glass into the world outside and see naught but rot and death. the stinking corpses pile high and the miasma blots out the sun, fandom clouds over fandom earth. each acre in this once glorious land carved up and parceled out to fat lords; google, meta, billionaires and CEOs, their greasy fingers cracking the earth and sucking its marrow clean. i will protect my sanctuary with my life.

Why is every fucking gaming website outside of kiwi farms so dogshit these days, Neo GAF, Gamefaqs, Resetera etc all overrun with far left subhuman mods and snitching users, it's all so tiresome.

Looks like Pride month is off to a strong start on gamefags, a witch hunt has just started on the Xbox board to figure out which users refuse to show support for the degenerates in they're most holy month.

You (presumably) have a life. Tranny communist neets do not. They have literally infinite time to spend on subversion. They have infiltration tactics that they've iterated and refined for decades.

It's literally a matter of having zero life, spending 100% of your time at whatever the target is, volunteering for some lowly, thankless position (like moderator), using your clout from that position to leapfrog your ideological allies into the organization, then whenever there's some major issue that comes to a vote - boom, it will go your way. It's all about having infinite time to slowly build a base of soft power that will snap to action at the precise moment an institutional pressure point reveals itself. Turn-key faggotry.

There is no restoring these institutions. The only way forward is building parallel systems and intrinsically hardening them against infiltration.

There's a host of reasons but if I were to try and boil it down to something; no one knows how to have fun anymore; in Anita's words, "everything is racist, everything is sexist, everything is homophobic, and you have to point it all out," and those that know how to have fun are subject to the crybaby whims of those that don't. Everything, to include the language you use, is as serious as a heart-attack, and you're not allowed to laugh at anything that these fucking psychos take seriously. Throw in that they're unable to identify with anything without trying to make it a 1:1 copy of their life, now if you laugh or even just disagree with them you're not just being mean, you're directly harassing/insulting them. Now look at the XBOX thread you linked, dude in there openly gloating about getting bigots banned; nevermind, you know for a fact if CJayC or whoever came out and said they're sanitizing the forum and getting rid of all gay shit, you know there'd be claims of some sort of gay holocaust. Then you realize these people are everywhere, have wormed their ways into positions of authority, and because most website admins are scared little nerds who don't want to rock the boat, they succumb to the peer pressure from the gay menace.

Just now found out about Current Events going private. Hahahahaha, of course it did, during an election year when support for Trump is getting stronger than ever before.

Here's a screenshot of CE right now:

The memes thread is exactly what you'd expect: lefty whines that are about as edgy as a butterknife. I go directly to the last page, and I'm greeted with this:

That was posted by a guy who has spent nearly the last 18 years of his life logging in to GameFAQs at least once a day, every day:

This is so common with those people. Their whole lives, spent on this hellsite.

By the way, here's a current thread list on LUE, the notorious forum that got quarantined back in 2003. Therefore, everyone here was registered as of 2003, and actively claimed access at the time. Since it was quarantined 21 years ago, chances are that nobody here is under age 30, yet they still post like teenagers:

The fitness thread is boring, but also funny because it was started nine months ago, and only has three pages. The thread's content isn't really interesting, it's just the usual GameFAQs thing where they all just kind of talk about themselves to no one in particular and nobody holds a back-and-forth with one another. Supporting one another is a big reason people post about fitness, and of course there's just none of that going on.

Here is a snippet of them being autistic:

Here is a tranny:

Registered in 2001, spent 85.3% of the last twenty three years of his life on GameFAQs, now he's trooning out. So sad.

The worst thing is that even smaller gaming sites are like that. There's literally no other forum to talk about video games on without being surrounded by libtards.

Jesus Christ. It's like going to your high school reunion and realizing that everybody else is wearing the same clothes as the last time you saw them.

This website to this day is still the best place to receive hard to find info on some games. God bless whatever Autist is spending hours of his day to post these walk-throughs

Jesus Damn

God Christ
You know, it's one thing when there are only a handful of people still posting in a community, ages and ages later. GameFAQs, though? That's the norm. You go there, you open a thread, you assume the poster must be like, 12 years old, and then you look at their account's age and karma, and find out they've been dedicated to that shithole for literal decades. And they're just posting away, 0wning the righties in their safe little hugbox, never actually making friends with one another, and just continuing to post their toothless seething over whomever's the subject of their daily two minutes of hate. They're the most useless people on the planet. They can barely fuckin' communicate with one another. Once you notice how so many GameFAQs threads are just commenters replying to the OP's topic as though they're just shouting into the void, barely ever directly replying to anyone else, you'll never unsee it. There's just no camaraderie there, and everyone seems to silently hate one another.

Yet they spend their entire lives there. The best years of their lives, constantly checking into GameFAQs daily, every day, for decades. If they did that in their teens and 20s, they're going to do it for the rest of their lives.

Sometimes when I am looking for help on a certain video game I am playing, I run into an old forum post from this site on Google. It helps and I get what I need, other times I don't. I would've never guessed that this site became a tranny haven.
