I still haven't figured it out. The posts in that thread still look like what I was posting (in some cases much worse). Another poster mentioned it might have been bait to ban people like goons used to do, but that doesn't make any sense since I wasn't banned entirely and this place forbids reregs anyway.

I have no choice but to assume some mod did his job poorly (and if it wasn't Null, for free.)

The reason I was given was "going off-topic." The only time I went off-topic was when I replied to this retarded post, which was of course off-topic:

1. Some butt-hurt mod is protecting the thread, or
2. Null is toying with us because he thinks it's funny.

I am leaning towards #1, though, because modern leftists are gung-ho about censoring speech they don't like.

I don't believe any mod here is a leftist. What I do believe is there's people who wish this place would go back to peacefully discussing the cows and the political shit would go away. I don't blame them since I also wish politics on the internet would go away.

My problem is I've seen similar situations on other websites. A small group of posters (who actually do veer left in a lot of their opinions) become experts at antagonizing other posters. They post things that are guaranteed to derail threads in subtle ways, people take the bait, the rotten egg posters report anyone who participates, the mods handle it, and now the mods develop an unconscious bias against X group who they believe is consistently disruptive. Meanwhile the rotten egg not only goes unpunished but ends up favored because they "keep it clean" with their reliable reporting. This is how you end up with mod teams full of rotten like-minded leftists.

I think something similar is happening here. It's not as dumb since guys like Dyn or HHH aren't fooling anybody. But I think people unworthy of mentioning are trying to make that happen. I won't be told it's unlikely since this site has been in the crosshairs of subversive people before and they've done stuff like make accounts, try to post under a pseudonym, etc.

Well, I don't know how you create a thread about DJT and then expect to keep politics out of it.

Regarding the subtle derailing-and-reporting, I suspect that's what happened to me. I've never been thread-banned before and so I didn't know there are mods who reward this behavior. Now that I know, I'll make an effort to ignore more retarded, non sequitur posts rather than dignify them with a response.

But unless the mods who go along with it are idiots, they must know the reporting system is being weaponized in such a way, and yet they willingly go along with it, which in turn rewards more of this behavior. When all the thread-banned posters seem to come from one side of the political aisle, I don't think it's a coincidence.

I too got thread banned from that thread though just for a week.

I think having that thread as a lolcow thread is incoherent and doesn't make sense. It will by its very nature be filled with political "sperging. You can hide your political opinion but it is there and political opinions touch every aspect of that subject.

I think null got this one wrong. Happens sometimes nobody is perfect. But it also doesn't really matter that much either and I don't really care.

I wish A&N was a bit less retarded and not so full of /pol stupidity(I am perfectly fine with radical right-wing opinions I just don't like them expressed in the most retarded manner possible).

Keeping Libtarded Trump Derangement syndrome people contained is not the worst thing in the world.
