i very strongly feel that nick did not give away all his alcohol, or get rid of it. i also do not see him returning to streaming sober. so many people who work to get sober find themselves having to withdraw from activities that they did while drunk/high, because they can’t imagine doing them sober once they decide to stop abusing. they also forget what it was like to do them sober, and forget that it was the activity itself and not the often later-introduced drunkeness/high that made it enjoyable. addiction is so infectious, it destroys enjoyment previously gained from activities once done sober after being done drunk/high for long periods of time.
i also have to major X to doubt that he gave all the liquor away. to whom? who does he have such a relationship with in his local community that would accept it?
edit: i also believe he is claiming he gave it away both because he cannot bear to part with it and also cannot bear the idea that the money he spent on it went down the drain as booze is so important to him.
further edit: in fact, if nick REALLY wanted to prove a point, he could have made his first livestream pouring every bottle down the drain. never going to happen.
