Speaking of single motherhood, I see ShoeOnHead had a kid.
Not that she's a single mother yet, it's just that hitting your 30s then having panic children with the first sort of semi-respectable guy to come along doesn't come off like the greatest relationship model.
So really it's more like single motherhood in process.
Thing is, even if you put all biological imperatives aside and get attached to someone else's children, they aren't your children. That means if things go belly up you have very few rights related to this family you stepped up for and now consider yourself part of.
You're chopped liver, get the fuck out.
They'll also date them, but a lot of these single mothers seem to still privately disdain men for being cuckolds (in the biological sense).
You really just have to close yourself off to the plight of single mothers. That seems harsh, but the whole situation puts you on your back foot way too seriously.
