But if ultimately if even these "mid" comics can't keep people engaged with either great storytelling or great artwork, it won't matter how non-woke it is - people will get bored and move on to something else. Personally, looking at these images from Yaira, nothing really jumps out at me or makes me want to read it.

Yeah, Nick has deep psychological issues. I'm almost starting to believe that he hates himself and wants to self destruct. The FNT people aren't into IBS. I know everybody assumes all grifters are the same, but the FNT people really, actually hate what Hollywood has done to their favorite entertainment. They mainly hate on Hollywood elites. They're not like Ethan Ralph or JuJu who have no soul and no limits to their sadism and cruelty.
They also seem to be friends who, shock horror, like each other and can actually banter.
The thing is I always got a different vibe from the EVS streams vs the FNT circle streams. I used to watch both, but the chats were very different with different vibes. The FNT people streams chat were always full of enthusiastic, pretty chill, fairly normal types. There was an overall positive energy about them and the shows. The EVS streams were entertaining, but their chat always seemed to be full of nihilistic, angry, hostile people who wanted to tear each other down. There was an overall negative, depressing energy about them.

Personally, I have never considered @Mister Dongs to be a CG simp. To the contrary, he was frequently very critical of CG. It's just that his approach was more data-driven, and less... shall we say... "invective based." I think some people think you're simping if you're not calling somebody a worthless piece of shit every five minutes. That's just stupid.
That's the Simple Zack Dichotomy. He's tired of the culture war concerning movies and corporations, but he will sperg about agendas in comics. He talks about wanting normie customers that will not refund his books for offending the wrong people, but he will court a specific audience by going after Maggs. He wants a wider audience, but he will stay in his tiny bubble and leave the advertising to Dixon or Bahr or Critical Drinker (while claiming he's an expert).
