The website is rentfree.live and I figured I could look up any streamer but it looks more like this is just another IP2 website just tracking those streamers. I wanted to check trainwrecks because I doubt he even has 20k actual viewers.

For being chronically online from time to time, I have never paid or donated for anything on the internet, except for a few software licenses (for commercial reasons) and some games (mostly as a teenager). I just do not understand these paypigs, don't they get what parasocial relationship exploitation is? That you can watch for free? The sub tier system is just a shitty .png image on a screen shaming you for wasting money and also probably made by a furry. Fuck it, Amazon should go in there and raise the price with $10.

I want to dunk on superchats as well, but I know papa Null would go bankrupt if it wasn't for those.

Correct. For context Twitch probably needs to spend Petabytes of bandwidth every month since they are a centralized system. The Twitch server has to send the stream to every user that watches and this takes a lot of bandwidth for video especially because Livestreaming is such a long form type of content.

I honestly don't think you can make Twitch profitable without somehow getting a network protocol that uses less bandwidth or Bandwidth becoming waaaay cheaper somehow.

Youtube has (or at least used to have) contracts with ISPs where they'll store copies of the most popular videos locally to reduce load. Obviously you can't do this with live video, so arguably Twitch is in an even worse spot than Youtube.

That said, Silicon Valley companies are infamous for making no fucking money whatsoever. Uber for instance has never made a dime in its life. Twitter only started making money once Trump Derangement Syndrome kicked into high gear, and I think even that was short-lived.

See the problem is you're expecting one of the dumbest corporations to act rationally. Amazon is run by dei mystery meat and aids-riddled faggots, and thus will absolutely double down on twitch for muh optics even if it has to burn every bridge to do so. The bean counters know that the loss leader business strategy is retarded by default, but that doesn't matter to the suits when twitch's real purpose is to spew out faggot propaganda and indoctrinate children.
