Long before there was TDS, before Bush Derangement Syndrome, before Ronald Reagan BTFO the leftists and progressives types into the curb, there was Nixon Derangement Syndrome.

The 1968 election was a massive shitshow as the Democrat Party didn't run that corrupt cunt LBJ again, and the massive protests in Chicago as the hordes of progressives and communists battled each other out in the streets Nixon won the election and proceeded to ignore the squabbling children. His 1972 win was even bigger, as the DNC tried to appeal to a more liberal crowd hoping to tap into the zeitgeist of hippies and popularity with younger voters on issues like civil rights and such which only lead to McGovern being defeated even harder.

Some older folks like Stephen King are STILL salty about Nixon 50 years later. Watergate was a massive hit job on the man where the actual corruption was blown up to target him instead of the glownigger agencies which had been pushing it. And it happened at the same time that the leftists had literal terrorism campaigns going on blowing shit up with their maoist "Bring the War Home" and "Weather Underground" shit which of course they have spent decades since lying about and hiding from history.

Just like my other spergout on FDR a few pages back, this is a sympthom of pop-culture historiography taking over reality and people ignoring first hand and second hand sources to instead cite regurgitated propaganda from decades later as fact.

TNO and its consequences have been a disaster for Hearts of Iron Mods.

Every new project now is making the same mistakes or getting stuck on the same problems trying to emulate TNO. Every mod team wannabe writes up plot outlines and makes up superevents and portraits, but then gives up when the time comes to actually implement anything, because your plot and mod need more than just a few big events to make sense.

Twilight of the Anthropocene is a good example. Neat premise (we got the transistor 20 years early) and there's a good aesthetic style (late 90s/early 2000s internet), but there's basically no actual content apart from a few shithole african or island nations that have their trees and events done.

Hasn't stopped them from having a filled out TV Tropes page or a Youtube channel full of basically unimplemented super events though!

It's a shame, neat idea for a mod, but it has basically no chance of ever actually getting around to fleshing out the more interesting parts (like the Tranny Cyborg) because that would require way too much actual work.

I mean the mod is literally a 3-way Nazi-Jap-American Cold War but it seems like the current focus right now is giving fucking Uruguay, 20+ year content with super detailed elections and visual novel personalities for every president candidate.

LATAM content should've never been more than Brazil, Argentina, Cuba and Colombia, maximum. Each of those four would at least have a special gimmick, wtf is all the focus on Uruguay from the TrooNO devs?

I assume he's went under a different name in the past and rebranded to WobCo for a reason that would probably be funny to know.
