But if you need a longer explanation, more women are becoming fat and as outlined in a previous post, the average bf for a w*man is 40%, so chances are most men will have to get with a fat chick. There's a reason why plapjak quickly left/fit/ and made it to Twitter. Many guys have been there.

You're somewhat right. The rise in obesity, no matter in which part of the world you are, correlates with increased social media and internet use.
IMO that's the main cause. The second to it is dating apps, which have warped people's image of themselves and what is to be expected - leading to defeatism, trauma eating and an overall reluctance to improve.
