On the actual topic, I am disappointed with the season so far. Benefit of the doubt as it could be the "Sophomore Slump" in full effect, but it feels less novel and fun than the first season. They're haranguing the gag of the banal and realistic argument a little too much. Especially from this past episode. Could be a sign that the newgrounds clique is in trouble because of their tendency to fall into the same patterns over and over again. Could be over exposure too. Could just be that I'm overthinking it, and it's just not as entertaining as the first season.

That said, I really loved that fucking dog gag at the end of the episode.

Im pretty happy with the episodes so far. Last one felt like the weakest one for me, but I did love how it was sort of a spoony brothers episode.

Fuck this weeks episode hit too close to home. The section where Insano Psychotic got kicked out was fucking hilarious, though.

Here's what I'm referring too. Zach actually talks about it briefly in one of the Forspoken Oneyplays eps I just forget which one.
Wow this guy is against nihilism, shitting your pants, and killing yourself? WOW WHAT A CRAZY CHRISTIAN PROPAGANDIAST EXTREMIST. STAY SAFE BROS!

The mental illness over there is really feeding off itself, fascinating.

Agreed. So far the Gwimbly episode is the only one that holds up to the first season in my eyes. I even think the President episode was almost just flat-out bad, which I wouldn't say about any episodes from the first season, mostly because I didn't find the President character funny at all. He's fat, stupid and gross, that's the joke. Like it stopped being amusing to be about thirty seconds in. And like with the most recent episode, the only time I was even remotely amused was with the reference to the egg homunculus video and when a real homunculus game out. Maybe if I knew who Joel Haver was before the episode, I'd have found it funnier. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I find I can barely recall many notable enjoyable scenes outside of the season premier aside from Mr. Boss giving Allan a tiny version of him.

How many episodes in the new season are about making someone smile?

Gwimbly, the President, Spooney, and anyone else? I feel like season one did a good job of making it trying to get to the client, trying to get the client to smile, trying to survive a competitor, or making doing a job out of personal reasons.

Mr. Frog and Gwimbly are the same premise, but with Pim being the one doing it out of nostalgia rather than Charlie with the B plot being Charlie trying to make James smile.

Frowning Friends and the Boss’s wife were the same premise of saving the business.

Enchanted Forest and President followed a similar “the actual job not mattering”.

Shrimp and Spooney was basically the same with a different conflict.

Alan is the only one that involved no one smiling and is a shit episode for that reason.

This is just the formula I’ve noticed.
