I asked someone I know who is a medical pro and recovered alcoholic themselves about the threads' observations, specifically claims of "wet brain," and this is what they responded with:

I personally witnessed this person going through withdrawal and delirium tremens. They were drinking several pints of vodka daily and hid away in a hole. It was only until it was all exposed to family that they got help because there was no excuse-making once the piss jugs and dirty mattress in the basement was found and they were writhing around on the ground pouring sweat and begging for booze. Truly humbling to witness what our addictions can do to us. Now they are almost two years sober and like a brand new person. So, there is hope for Nick, but he isn't even close to admitting he should lay off the substances and clown behavior.

A normal, caring parent wouldn’t be able to shut up about being separated from their kids if they were on-stream, especially over charges they personally deem unjust.

Every time I see these messages it pisses me off because we know how Nick lies. He tries to "technically" tell the truth while omitting information or leading you to false conclusions.

If Nick had never DUI'd he would say he's never driven drunk or high or whatever. If that was true, but he had never driven under the influence with his kids in the car he would say he's never driven drunk or high or whatever while his kids were in the car.

Instead, he says he's never been caught.

I'm going to go out on a very safe limb and say Nick has likely driven while under the influence of alcohol and/or other substances with his kids in the car multiple times and that it's a miracle he hasn't been in a massive wreck yet.

You would think, but nothing would surprise me at this point. I think if he gets desperate enough, he'll try just about any defense in the hopes it sticks.
