@Ruben Sim I know that faggot joining the farms to REE at you is hot right now but I wanted to bring this furry steam sale to your attention, since you are a Gamer and happen to draw the ire of the fur folk.
Now at first I thought this was just like any other sale, but then I noticed this message on the page.
This is pretty degenerate, but I think this event itself is worth a closer look to get a better idea on how stuff like this works on Steam. The good news is that this looks like a flop overall.

Thankfully, this isn't a front-page sale like Steam has been running more frequently nowadays. In fact, the only event Steam is directly promoting is the Summer Showcase, now that E3 is dead.

The logical place to try, and find what other events Steam is running is by looking at the global header navigation's Store item for the News page. That page defaults to the Your News tab in the sidebar's navigation, but by default it has identical contents to the Featured tab. Checking the Steam Official tab confirms that the Anthro Festival is not being pushed by Valve themselves.

Going back to the Featured tab is the first sign of this event. You have to scroll down a lot to find it though under Stories From Featured Curators.

Most of Steam's user content functionality builds on top of the Community Groups feature. Every Group without exception has a Community, a Curator, and a News Hub, although all of these might be disabled, or unused. This is what Anthro Festival's associated pages look like.

Otherwise, the only other page of note is their Community Event post. Even the few participants who discovered the sale realize its lack of traction.

All of this shows how little effort it takes to set up a sale like Anthro Festival. A user creates a Community Group, creates a Community Event, attaches that to a Community Announcement post, and adds that to their News Hub. The only secret sauce that appears to be going on here is getting it featured by Valve, and creating a custom sale page.

Speaking of which, the sale page itself is worth revisiting to analyze its presentation. You'll see a livestream, and the promoted games.

In the archive, Klace appears to be actually broadcasting like he says in the News Hub post. However, outside of those hours, it seems the broadcast automatically cycles through the games on the sales page that Steam accounts are broadcasting. Notably, almost all of these broadcasts are from developer, or publisher accounts of the games themselves, have been broadcasting for just short of 24 hours, and are nearly certainly pre-recorded. In fact, one of them even had a label explicitly saying just that.

Also interesting is that many of the games on the page are not on sale. I researched some of the normie games that weren't on sale, but got heaped in anyway, and found those developers never mentioned the event even once.

There was about half a dozen games whose developers did acknowledge the sale, including Klace, but they were the smallest ones. One of those developers doesn't actually have their game on sale at all kek. All in all the amount of posts on X / Twitter was so small that I was able to count every single one of them: 51 in total at the time of writing. See for yourself if you're logged in. (Archives don't work on searches.)

One other anomaly is worth pointing out. For every game on the page, on sale or not, the event's banner shows on their store page.

So, what's the point Anthro Festival if it has almost no engagement? My guess is that Klace, the organizer, and several of his Discord friends saw an opportunity to advertise a mostly fake sale on other games' pages for two purposes.

Firstly, and most obviously, was the hope that some of that traffic from other, completely unrelated games would convert into purchases for their games. Any of the other games that have discounts are likely trying to target Steam's summer event, or just so happen to enter one of the sales periods Valve offers publishers, and developers every year, with no knowledge of Anthro Festival.

However, Klace, and his Groomercord friends have been posting a lot about the livestreaming event as well. While I wasn't around when they were actually online to confirm their Broadcast would show up on each of those games' store pages, I think that's probably what happens, based on the unusually high viewer count in the Anthro Festival sale page archive. If so, this is probably one of Klace's goals.

Chances are Klace will use this loophole to exhibit his fetish to Steam more broadly. Could be worth archiving, and criticizing here.

And, if a nobody like Klace can set up a tumbleweed sale like this, anybody probably can. It looks like it takes minimal social engineering, and my guess is that Valve just handwaved it through without even so much as looking at it, like a lot of things they do.

A final footnote: On Klace's profile, I don't know exactly what he means by being partnered with Nintendo. I'm hoping that's just him overselling the fact that you can buy his furtrash game on the Switch eShop. Furries actually collaborating with Nintendo in particular would be a horrific disaster.

I appreciate it Null

To my knowledge there were many that were slandered by both Ruben Sim and his fanbase. A few off the top of my head are JerseyFurry himself, BlueFolf, and a few others I can't mention due to privacy concerns. There is also evidence in the Google Doc that I believe Ruben tries to overlook.

HA! I knew this shit was a sham.

I mentioned earlier in some of my early tweets, I'd been blackmailed by a guy named Helmet Boy from the Ghost community into saying that shit so he wouldn't swat & dox my house. This came at the same time when there was a mass brony purge and every single one of them aside from a few had been banned from Ghost's chatrooms and had been tracked down and had several attempted doxes and swats (which Ghost himself sweeps under the rug but I digress)
This is nothing new from him, nor particularly surprising.
Peppermint since you blocked me on Twitter thought I'd come to this thread to say my peace
You were never blackmailed by Helmet Boy, he never got visited by the feds & you seem to love lying about other people's names to get brownie points from your cult of Loli enjoyers.
GED never swatted anyone illegally, you're just a pedophile who never speaks the truth; what a shame that you love abusing the block button whenever everything goes wrong for yourself.

Next time lad, stay away from the kids.

Essentially I randomly popped into the community due to mutuals & ended up being involved in the nuking of Alchappers and the bouncy hopper legion of retardation.
I was then made aware of Peppermint's shenanigans online by others in the community and he (I guess?) now hates the fact that people know everything about him even though it's been known for ages now. I'm just a random geeza who doesn't like pedophiles and would love to line them against the wall.

Any proof on that? No seriously. Helmet at least tried to debunk it, and considering that you have provided NO images or links on this, along with the original thread not showing this, I'm inclined to believe the opposite. Not to mention that like I've said before, your insistence on thinking that Ruben calling people like CaptArgo pedos is wrong, makes me think otherwise. Archive | Link
It's funny cause aside from that old screenshot where he admitted to liking loli's I had no other interaction with him for like 2 or 3 years until I joined Ghost's community.

Considering it's only running for 5 days, competing with 19 other ongoing events and more as others start in its time window, on top of not being technically a sale, this is basically the equivalent of resume padding.

Look, we have our own event on Steam! Yet, it's inconsequential, and blending in the background seemingly on purpose. TUNIC, Cult of the Lamb and Death's Door being on sale would have been a proper crowd gatherer, but they couldn't even get the devs/publishers to start one.

I'm genuinely at a loss, where is the humor in this? Is it supposed to be funny?
I think it’s meant to make fun of people who say “bro/blud actually ____ 💀” before everything including real life. You see it from a shit ton of teens on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts.

You guys think Peppermint deserves a thread?
