A 23-year-old woman who was mauled to death by a dog in southwest Ireland appears to have been the owner of an XL bully.

The woman, who was named locally as Nicole Morey, was killed on Tuesday evening at a house in Ballyneety, County Limerick, at around 11.40pm.

Her body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem. Irish broadcaster RTE said the dog involved in the attack was understood to be an XL bully.

According to her social media, Ms Morey was the loving owner of what appears to be an XL bully.

In one video on TikTok, she is seen dancing with a dog in a kitchen.

The video is covered by a male voice saying: "This is my son and I don't give a f*** if you think he looks aggressive and I don't give a f***if you don't like the look of him and I surely don't give a f*** whether you think the breed should be banned."

Another chilling video appearing to show her as the owner of several dogs is captioned: "But if one of us dies - I hope I die first." The video ends with a caption reading: "Love my family."

In another post, she describes herself as a "dogmom" and is seen handing treats to two dogs.

Ms Morey was treated by paramedics but died at the scene on Tuesday, Garda (Irish police) said. One dog was put down while three others were seized.

There are several restricted breeds in Ireland, including German shepherds, rottweilers and various bull terriers, as well as some crosses.

Restricted dogs must be kept collared with their owner's information on a tag, muzzled in public and on a short, strong lead with someone over the age of 16 who is able to control them.

This aint even a nature vs. nurture thing dumbass, even human beings go crazy when in situations like that fucking pitbull was in in those vids. You take an animal prone to impulsive aggression and you put it in a series of cramped spaces to film and photo it for tiktok clout constantly that's a god damn recipe for disaster.
Um... what are you exactly arguing at this point? We seem to agree that it's a dangerous breed prone to random violence, my point of contention if you look at my original response was that you seem to be saying you can train that out of them.
Even in the best of environments pitbulls can still just snap.

I don't get how some people are so blinded by the fucking stupid war over pitbull shit to notice the obvious extra factors that made this case worse.
Mate they were not in a fucking 3x3 cage. look at the first video from 5 seconds on, look at the second video a 4 seconds, it was a good enough sized house.
And the fucking ide that filming tiktoks is stressful for the animal when all she's doing in the videos is playing with, petting and filming is laughable. She didn't force them to dance around, picked them up or exposed them to loud noises.
"I had to stab grandma cuz we wuz living in a 340 square meter house and she keep hugging me for them tiktoks"

Fuck. Pitmommy getting eaten alive by her own Pitties is a strong contender for this year's Darwin Awards.

Still voting for Nigger who blasted his own head in front of a mirror while acting like a hoodrat.
My instant thought is this one is just the female version of the same exact thing so I call it a tie.

I wouldnt dance with any big dog like that. People seem to misunderstand how much training and work dogs need to be safe. They need so much care when tiny, they need years of training, and constant reinforcement. You shouldn’t ever be encouraging a dog to stand up on its hind legs next to you - you’re told if they do that a puppy you push them down gently but firmly and only pet them when calm and on all four paws. The size of that thing in the video - it will weigh more than most women. You stand no chance at all if it snaps and turns on you.
Xl bullies are a chav thing, we have had a few round our way and I have never seen a single one that’s trained. They’re supposed to be muzzled now and they never are. They’re all walking in front of people, pulling the owner along in the leash. Barely under control.
We live somewhere where rural, urban and suburban meet and you can tell by the dogs. Working dogs in immaculate condition, well trained, to heel and responsive. Toy city dogs just doodling around yapping and the chav dogs looking like they’d eat anything they set their foul piggy eyes on.

You are not training any of these inbred psycho dogs to be safe. Some dogs are naturally more dangerous and harder to handle and require more attention. Size only becomes an issue when considering the impact of a bite. For example, a bite from a Shih Tzu is not likely to be fatal.
Breeds like Labradors or Saint Bernards typically require serious abuse to get to the point of randomly mauling someone.
In contrast, bullies are born as psychos and no amount of training will ever remove that.
