I was expecting something 70's themed instead of 80's themed because "Fever Night" evoked "Saturday Night Fever" to me.
 
I don't get the conceit of Vtubers. If you want to go fantasy and have an anime waifu why not go the whole 9 yards and just daydream up your perfect fantasy girl thats compatible with you in every way, has unlimited time for you, won't charge you money, and you don't have to have a parasocial relationship with? If you want a real person why not go the whole 9 yards and get a real relationship? If that is off the table why not at least get confirmation that the chick is actually a hot girl? If you're going to pretend they are and don't really care. Why not pretend about all the other stuff too?

Its just a weird mixture of two opposing things with none of the benefits.

Dude, they are literally just streamers with an avatar, same as any other idiot with a png while they talk, just some of them are actually also performers for concerts and stuff, it also does allow for more artistic interaction with the community without going the route of actually depicting a real human being.

You're overthinking it entirely. or at least you seem to just be working backwards from the stereotype in your head of what a vtuber fan is, which don't get me wrong that image in your head does exist just that's not the end all be all of why someone might watch them.

I like the streams (which I hope you don't also not understand why someone might watch streamers in general) and I like the aesthetic, it aint that deep.

It's supposed to just be entertainment. Some people benefit from or even exploit the parasocial part, just like some normal streamers and content creators do. When they do it stands out a lot more because obviously the cartoon woman isn't someone who can be in your life.

Obviously the premise of your post is just wrong but what the fuck are you referring to here? Like you're implying the point is people watch the anime girl they're attracted to, you're wrong but I get what you're saying. But this sentence you're just like "just use imagination", what the fuck are you on?

This just in all porn sites, dating sites, and twitch streamers out of business all men are now "just using their imagination"
New discovery threatens other forms of fiction too why play video games, read books or watch movies when you can just imagine one.
