In a stunning example of why no one should respect Paypigs, Tom Tuttle decided to pay Felicia Day for a cameo shout out.

Video takes up a lot of real-estate so I spoilered it. Its boomer humor so prepare yourselves.

This could lead to more funny. Will she be harangued for this paid video? Do people still hate CG enough to bother? Time will tell.1718054766574.png

I signed up to see cost associated, but she's "currently unavailable". Drat. Went to another profile, seems video prices are custom based on what manner of shout out you're asking for -- makes sense. So I'm unable to verify how much that cost tuttle(for now). 24hr delivery seems to add 40+ dollereedoos.

As a test I went to a third creator's page. It seems as though the 24 delivery cost also differs from creator to creator. Makes sense. 68.31 for 24hour rush from the actor who plays Crowly on Supernatural, vs the 47.61 24hour rush for the Big Brother personality above.

There is lolcow potential though. Why people think they are duty bound only to report only on one side's foibles is silly to me. This is not a zero-sum game. We're closer than ever at getting a punished frog arc and no amount of July flubs are going to change that or make Ethan look even remotely better in comparison.

By all means keep exposing the red in the ledgers, just don't expect a big reaction over a few dog turds when the elephant in the room is shitting waterfalls next to a hippo who's just fanning shit all over the walls. How anyone can complain about the attention Ethan is getting now is beyond me, but of course I'm biased.

Totally agree. Just because people recognize that EJ is a competent businessman doesn't mean people can't also make fun of him. His politics are dumb, his music is dumb, his ideas for his own comics are dumb. He just doesn't seem very interesting to make fun of. He makes for a boring lolcow. A person could go after him, but what's the point at the moment?

EVS, on the other hand, is a giant, flaming tard sperg conman who is getting crazier and crazier every day. If it seems like people are too "hugboxxy" about July, it's not about propping up and protecting July as much as it is about countering Van Scammer, his Nu CG cultists, and their insane EJ derangement syndrome. The only thing I'm hoping for when it comes to EJ is that he creates a stable business that could allow somebody with talent to come in and succeed. But again, people should mock away if he does anything legit lolcow worthy. I'm just here to witness the Total Frog Doom, too.

It's because of what other people here already said. Nobody wants to shit on Eric July too hard while the crack pack is doing and encouraging outright illegal shit to fuck with him. That's where we're at now.

And in case you missed it, FROG came back in here just to make a PA request. That also kills the mood. He found no takers, and it wasn't from want of EJ critics.

Cow on cow shit flinging is nothing new, but Dax and co. taken have taken it way too far. Too far for a guy who doesn't have a thread, and won't be getting one any time soon if Dax keeps going. When somebody tried to give him a thread, it was like 90% Dax's gay bullshit, and only further hardened people against giving him shit.

My feeling on this is if it was JUST EVS, there'd be no problem. So I don't think it's people fearful that a July L means an EVS W, like you suggest. I think it's people that don't want to reward or further a shitty (and at times, unlawful) off-site harassment campaign. It goes against the ethos of the Farms.

EDIT: Dax is known to prowl the Farms. Looking for shit to screencap (often out of context) and use against his enemies.

his music is dumb
WhitePilled is lit af (as the youths say) and I'm tired of pretending it's not.

Sure this is already archived on this forum but had to see it to believe it.
Was looking into EVS due to the rekieta thread and am amazed to find out he’s been scamming people for years by taking commission funds in advance and not delivering, at least since 2008?
People gave him money in advance for cyberfrog with the reputation he has.

Madness
I was reading more of that forum and someone mentioned Rob Granito, some guy that was passing off other people's art as his own. EVS managed to get him banned from conventions. So I was looking him up and saw this amazing ComicsBeat article by Heidi MacDonald from the distant past of 2011.

Some funny highlights:
The story seems to have culminated when the Murtaugh and Riggs team of Mark Waid and Ethan van Scriver got together to ride him out of town on a rail, as Waid put it:

Don’t give me too much credit for the co-smackdown, folks. It’s just that when I heard that he’d tried to capitalize off Dwayne’s death, that was the last straw for me. I saw red and stormed over with Ethan. We were both livid. I told Fraudboy in no uncertain terms that I will personally contact every convention there is and warn them… not to give him a table if they ever want to see me or MY friends there, EVER. I also screamed at him when he said “Well, truthfully–” that he is not allowed to use that word, ever, ever. That word means nothing coming from him.

Waid’s tweet summed up the uniting power of comics:

Hey Granito: When you get comics’ loudest leftwing hippiefreak AND loudest rightwing Nazi to join forces on your ass, YOU HAVE FUCKED UP.

Bonus points for Heidi misspelling Evan's name. 👍

Comicstorian passed away. This is from his channel (I’m having problems trying to archive it in archive.ph).

Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident.

To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he'd reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it.

He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family. I have so many things I need to figure out but firstly, I need to grieve. I ask that you respect my privacy as well as everyone else's. Right now my priority is preserving everything he's built and I don't have any plans beyond that.

His channel was one of his greatest accomplishments, and while we all need our time to mourn him, I know he wouldn't want it to end like this. Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. It was through his love of exciting stories and well written characters that got him started on YouTube.

The team and I want to keep that going. To honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive.

We supported each other on everything we wanted to do and I'm not about to stop now. - Nathalie Potter

To your earlier point about manga people 100 percent would like good comics or even amateur compelling comics with a story to tell. TMNT and the crow had a made in a basement feel and were awesome.

If evs had Eric's drive and understanding of business you'd have an unstoppable force. Instead we have a cripple fight. I think you (or another) noted at least Eric may make a platform for other professionals and that will be the best thing to come out of all this.

But if evs hadn't been full of shit and head teamed up with some comics writers like dixon to help him craft stories people cared about with his art in the indie scene like his green lantern run and if he had churned out 240 pages a year (you can't build an epic without tons of work, its better to have a 240 page epic with some wonky panels then 22 pages of story, its just too little story) he could have made a real difference, built a comic empire rather than a harassment ring but the talented people are always the craziest.

One other thing, to your question on IMAGE COMICS - it was similar to CG in that greed won over art.

When they split off the promise was creator owned books by the creators who made/drew them, kinda like no more free agents. They did these wizard interviews touting people will only draw the books they make. The pre-orders came in and unlike with marvel they kept the money and the pre-order money alone must have been enough to retire on, likely millions of bucks per issue. (they did well at marvel but with an editors whip at their back forcing them to do 22 pages a month now no one was forcing them to produce)

It became a joke among fans almost no book shipped on time but they had the cash in hand from pre-orders (sound familiar), they were all pocketing the money and sitting on their asses apparently buying lavish stuff they would show off in interviews (sound familiar) saying they want high quality as an excuse for it being late (sound familiar).

There were a few exceptions, todd was ok with spawn (he had passion for it) just a little late, larsons savage dragon shipped but he wasn't the hottest artist and poor jim valentino didn't miss deadlines but his work was workman like and he was brought in I understand because they liked him and no one wanted to run the office, his books didn't sell shit. Silvestri hit deadlines but I think he seemed more work for hire for jim lees stuff, as good as he is I don't think his stuff hit. I did like cyberforce but it wasn't a hot book I don't think.

Soon enough jim lee and rob liefeld had pocketed so much money they hired artists and writers to just do the books for them (Travis charest was awesome) while portacio had a death in the family I think and his wetworks was super later to the point of being a running joke in diamond catalog and todd even found a replacement artist. Basically, they all realized they could make money now doing nothing but have someone else draw (like evs and superchats) and became the thing they ran away from, marvel. The money poured in and they sat around until I guess jim lee bolted to dc and sold his characters cashing in.

Also since they were all artists except for maybe spawn the ideas were all poorly thought out. They had even changed drastically from their pitches just a few months earlier in the wizard interview from when they debuted, showing just how little they had thought out and stuck to their own ideas. Artists just assumed they could write and wild cats was no xmen.

Eventually they hired people like warren ellis and their stories got better but jim lee bailed and a writer of course outshined them all with walking dead that generated more cash then likely everything else combined. Todd kept churning out spawn, probably the only one to keep his idea but obviously the toys are his passion.

In the end, it is similar to comicsgate in that artists, if given the choice, will do anything they can to make money but draw in some cases....even organize harassment campaigns.

I remember how huge Image was when it premiered. And Wizard blowing up. And I remember how the focus shifted from books to comic artists as celebs. There was a lot of heat and hype at first, but yeah, there again, when the artists and their egos go unchecked, things get out of control. And when you don't have editorial checks and some rational business people as checks, chaos reigns. You get a boom and bust cycle.

I wish I could find my OVERPOWER cards. Somewhere nestled in that collection is the Webheaded Wizard that came with an issue of Wizard Magazine(I can't remember which one, its been too long). Part of me misses playing that goofy-assed card game. Ah, the memories!

Our favorite always misinformed cuck is talking about Riley, July and the sweathog hollerin'

I love that legless wonder who cried on stream because Mersh of all people felted him hard as well as Captain Cuckhold dwindled down July's potential actions to "it's just internet beef my dood, just invite him in and have a laugh, it's all fun and games the beef between him and you!"

BTW, does anybody here actually believe Ethan when he says that Riley was trolling him at his own wearhouse, but he was totally cool and chad about it, whereas Eric wasn't?

Listen to 3:50 onwards. Tell me Riley's visit to Ethan wasn't staged AF.

No. That whole video looked staged. I can't recall if it happened before or after Ethan decided to go scorched Earth on July though. Part of me thinks it was maybe a few days before he released the DM between him and Eric.
