It's amazing how many companies keep investing in china no matter how many get destroyed, doesnt even matter the industry? Video games? Films? Property? All complete disasters and ended up ruining their previously successful business in the rest of the world. Everything that happened with Blizzard, the Evergrande shit, lots of disaster stories and hardly any success stories but investors are obsessed with wanking themselves off over the POTENTIAL for growth that never materializes

Supposedly Gamersupps (G-fuel competitor part-owned by vtuber Shylily and a popular sponsor of indie vtubers) was issued a C&D by the Secret Service to discontinue their Lean-coloured/flavoured product (both caffeine and caffeine-free variants) because it featured the US President's image, for fear of being 'seen as detrimental to national security and public perception, particularly during the upcoming election period'. Probably because boomers and gen-x are retarded enough to think it's a real image of Biden drinking lean.

They posted the attached image to a now-deleted tweet; the lawyers probably told them to stop publicly acting like retards in dealing with the government trying to censor freedom of speech. Or it could be a stunt after they've exhausted stock, albeit a convincing one.

This strongly implies they're going to be going back.

Kobo's dream also did incredibly well and that's without any amount of marketing.

This means that moving forward we're going to be seeing even more people on there.

I'm certain this is gonna be an unpopular take but I really think viewing this as "bending the knee" to be a major overreaction

Unless you think going and selling them shit is some how a submissive act when they've never stopped selling their goods to china.

Or streaming on a chinese platform is bending the knee despite the fact they never left tiktok, another chinese platform.
Unless they do something actively stupid regarding restricting their talents on youtube to appease the bugs I don't much care if they throw a few ads over on Bilibili to make a quick buck. Sparsely making use of a platform doesn't indicate a cultural shift any more than a few talents occasionally using twitch didn't indicate some shift toward "twitch culture" (I know these things aren't 1:1 comparable by a long shot but just illustrating a point that making use of a platform doesn't have to indicate some big company shift)

Ironically though if one wanted to call them out for catering to the chinese the best example of that is something they've never stopped doing. Which is tiptoing around Taiwan. Ask yourself why all their events and mentions from talents make sure to not mention the country and just talk about Taipei.

For those in the gaming sphere, Nintendo was also looking to move business into China and have actually added them to the TPC.

Something called Pokémon works has been in development where essentially a Chinese studio is going to be doing some of the games now on top of some other Nintendo heads.

There's also evidence that they're going to be doing this with other parts of their series.

Since Holoive is always playing the latest Nintendo games they may as well follow suit
