Culture My Father Was a Poet Who Wrote Endlessly About Feet’

The Sharp Edge of a Shell

“How will I know?” I asked my father before he died. “Talk to me like we are now and listen,” he said. Months passed. I was scared to talk to him. What if I didn’t hear him? On Father’s Day, running barefoot on the beach, I called out, “Dad?” The sharp edge of a shell sliced my foot. My father’s father was a podiatrist. My father was a poet who wrote endlessly about feet. He believed, “The soul is rooted in the foot.” Seven stitches, a beautiful scar. I feel hollow with loss, but my father is still with me. — Hannah Sward

Looks Jewish, too.

I'm not a foot defender but I don't see how you can celebrate gay pride and everything related to that and then still consider foot fetishism some sort of weird taboo.
The foot fetishists just need to convince people they were born with it, start flying a "foot pride" flag and try to get people fired from their jobs if they have an issue with it.

The man's father was a podiatrist. His father studied feet and he did too. I don't see the fetishism angle. Where's the evidence of eroticism? Lame.
Edit: holy shit
BORN IN THE BOHEMIAN SEVENTIES, Hannah Sward was abandoned by her mother and lived with her poet father on an island with no stores or cars. Kidnapped and molested by a stranger at age six, she grew up to be a stripper and a prostitute with a taste for crystal meth—which seemed to be a sure-fire way to lose weight—with stops along the way for silent gurus, sugar daddies, and drinking in the CVS bathroom before therapy sessions. Painstakingly honest, often humorous, Strip is a heartfelt memoir revealing a woman’s journey from innocence to a dark existence, and beyond it to a new world of empowerment.
:cryblood:

Many cultures around the world, particularly in Asia, view the feet as inherently unclean and touching something with feet is considered extremely disrespectful.
After witnessing the behavior of foot fetishists, I have to say I now hold this view without remorse.
