Honestly, this doesn't feel particularly conspiratorial unto itself.

Think about it. The families of everyone who attended that school have endured a horror that nobody should have to endure. Some lost their children. If you don't have children of your own, it can be difficult to grasp how the loss of a child can destroy a person, a family, a community.

Try to imagine yourself in a similar situation. A school has just been shot up, 3 children and 2 adults have been murdered. Then, while the bodies are still warm, the national news media swoop in, like the vultures that they are. A camera and microphone are shoved in your face, and you are asked how it feels to know that a little girl who brightened the day of everyone who knew her was brutally shredded by a fully semi-automatic AR-47. A few days later you see the talking heads on the news asking random people who have no connection to your community if they think your community might have deserved what happened, because everyone knows that Christianity is intrinsically homophobic.

Your world has just been destroyed. Fuck having to deal with your anguish being hyped up and sold to a bunch of gawking strangers. I wouldn't blame you for trying anything you could to shut that down.

Edited to add: I am not agreeing with keeping Mrs Hale's journals hidden from the public. But I do believe I can understand why someone might want to, without it having to be glownigger shenanigans or LGBTQIA2SWTF advocacy. Reddit is a funny place. There's a subreddit called r/masskillers where mass shooters are the main topic, and posts about Audrey Hale are frequently nuked. To me, it's seemed like kids born 1995 or later are the first ones where every single member of that generation grew up watching porn regularly starting in primary school/before they were even old enough to even have a sex drive. The 100% exposure rate seems like it started then.

People your age or older knew how to access it, sure, but not every single kid in the class, and probbably only the ones who wanted to see it were looking at it. For the younger generations, it's completely normalized and young children who don't understand or desire sex acts now grow up seeing hardcore internet porn. I wouldn't be surprised if the victims' families were being manipulated. Every bit of gossip heard twists the knife in that fresh emotional wound, and the police haven't even had the chance to release your daughter's body to you yet. Along comes some group, claiming to sympathize with your loss, and offers to help you make the spectators shut the fuck up so you can have some privacy and time to grieve. It would be mighty tempting to take their offer without looking too close at them or their motivations.
