Yes and no. His tendency to try to make himself popular could actually get him in worse trouble. Add to this his tendency to whinge and make himself out to be someone much smarter than he actually is and it's guaranteed to get him in trouble at some point. This boy has never actually been to the real hood, so was never properly taught when to shut his mouth. Opening our mouths to solve our issues only works until it simply doesn't.

Above average inmates do exist and they tend to be the worst kind of predator. An example, some will use a transfer to a psych area for the purposes of seeking out victims and easier treatment/access to drugs. They get off on intimidation and the manipulation aspect so usually very bad things have to happen before they are caught. It's amusing as hell watching him try to emulate that crowd with the shitty little Joker painting. He wouldn't last a second with that level of predation and it would be especially traumatizing for someone with his upbringing.

It doesn't take very long with some people to find a reason and Nick is grating on the nerves with his constant need to be liked. He couldn't run his YT persona in the jails/prisons. This population is uniquely accustomed to being on the other side doing most of the manipulating, not the other way around, so most know what a show looks like and he can't "endear" himself to other people's criminal complexes...
