Nick is pretending that we're bad people because we believe he's guilty when he hasn't been found guilty by the courts yet.

Generally, I agree with that mindset. Except when it's so fucking obvious to anyone that can rub two braincells together that you're guilty as fuck. I don't care if you somehow get found not guilty -- we all know you're as 'innocent' as OJ was.

Being guilty of a crime=/=the court having sufficient evidence to convict you is my go-to response for 'innocent until proven guilty'
Presumed innocence is a court function. Its not a philosophic maxim for life. Just because the system owes you the benefit of the doubt doesn't mean we owe it to eachother

"Guy was accused of a crime but there's no public evidence available" is a valid reason to be innocent until proven guilty in the public eye. I agree with that mindset entirely. But this isn't anything like that.. a lot of public evidence is available... and he streamed a lot of that evidence himself.

Nick's argument is that we should let him gaslight us and let him be the only source of truth for anything about his life. Its not about legal guilt or innocence. Nick wants to lie to us and have us believe it.

If Nick says there was no cocaine and he never used cocaine, we are supposed to believe him. If he says he a monogamous trad dad, we are supposed to believe him. If Nick says he is a good father even after CPS takes away his children, we are supposed to believe Nick. If Nick says his weight loss was all planned or due to illness, we are supposed to believe him.

Nick has gotten away with lying and manipulating people for so long that he just can't see any other way to live.

One of the things I've noticed since being here is just how many Lolcow threads begin as simple forum discussion threads about a popular internet character. And without fail those same lolcows become total embittered at Null for his simple acts of allowing their sordid history to linger and not faltering on his morals.
