If we're sharing degen gambling stories, here's mine. My IRL gambling consisted of buying a few scratchoffs over 10 years ago, making a small profit (enough to buy lunch at an OK local place), and never gambling again. The end. Get out while you're ahead. Or better yet don't start at all.
Before that though, I played Kingdom of Loathing which had an ingame casino and one of the games was Money Making Game which was 50/50 with 0.1% of the profits going to the house. Only this was with ingame currency which I had gotten for free by playing the game normally. The """strategy""" was you bet a small amount, if you lose you double your bet and add 100, so you'd start with 1000, then 2100 if you lost, 4300, etc. to "beat" the house edge. Once or twice it got to where if I didn't win the last game I would have lost all my money. Those one or two times were enough to make me swear off it, the stress was too much. And that's with fake ingame money that I got for free. I'm way too much of a pussy to even think about putting that stress on myself by gambling for real. When Austin's up fat doing $10k dice rolls that's stressful for me as is.
I'm glad I learned that gambling is not for me without losing any real money on it. I'm perfectly happy to watch Austin win and lose it all.
