My buddies and I did All-U-Can-Eat Pizza Buffet all the time in high school. The pizza kind of sucked, but hey, teenagers can eat a lot of pizza and soda, especially during sports seasons.

the gun laws were something that absolutely attracted liberals to the state, though i also do concede that new york was just as shitholefied without any hard republican governance, even with someone like giuliani in when he was. i still think that liberals continued to enact gun control basically unopposed in their state after reagan did it because he had essentially silenced the right-wing pushback by having it be gun control from a right wing source to begin with; and of course the purpose of it was just because the government was getting nervous that people with guns weren't happy with them.

Support for gun control had been a rising tide in America since Italian and Irish immigrants got completely out-of-fucking-control in Chicago and NYC in the 1920s. It didn't start with Reagan, nor were Republicans a pro-gun party before 1967, as Eisenhower and Nixon both supported gun control. The GOP's pro-gun shift didn't really get going until the 1980s. Ironically, what you portray as the beginning of the GOP's weakness on gun control, the Mulford Act, was probably the high-water mark.
