I've rested and even several hours later I think those two had a strong first impression.
OFC, this is just a debut and we've only seen two of them, but zamn they can do multiple things that some of their forerunners were known for.

I eff with them heavy

Elizabeth had a great debut but her content isn’t the kind of stuff that grabs me.

Gigi was just annoying, and this is from someone who loves Biboo

Meemaw is cooking
was she the one that was cooking burgers on her desk like a week ago? That sizzling grease mustve been going all over her keyboard

edit: yea this was making me mad.

Adding onto that is the entire trend of indies trying to match expensive corpo vtuber debuts, spending considerable money on original songs/cover songs, pricey key art, and more with low likelihood of a return on investment. There's no shortage of vtweeters moaning about how 'expensive' it is to get started with a debut because they fall for the meme of needing to debut.

Kizuna Ai just showed up with an intro video and the ball started rolling from there with zatsu-style videos. That was back when vtubers were youtubers rather than streamers though.
I think is nothing wrong with starting out with everything you listed but it will forever be about not getting scammed or actually ending up spending that much
Ive seen above average riggers only charge 250USD for a job

Although, im reminded that when the Zaion doc dropped and revealed that the talent all paid for almost everything besides the model and rigging out of pocket, it really made people look back at previous debuts and realize why Rosemi had the simple doodle introduction compared to a fancy polished animation

My issue with V-Tubers is I don’t like livestreams. I like YouTube videos. So I mostly stick to clips and the few vtubers that do regular video content as well like Fennryn. I’m only subbed to a few vtubers but watch a lot of clips of many others.

I like Hololive English tubers, of the ones I’ve seen. For Advent, the only one I don’t really watch clips of is Shiori and that’s not cuz I dislike her I just don’t really watch her clips. I’ve not seen much of Promise at all but they seem fine. Of Myth, the only two I really pay attention to are Gura and Calli, sometimes watching clips of Kiara. I can’t even tell you what Ina’s voice sounds like and Watson is like Shiori where I just…Don’t watch her stuff.
I like Gura the best because she’s Senzawa and I love Senzawa.

The only vtuber that I genuinely don’t really like is Ironmouse to be honest. I don’t dislike her as a person, her content just doesn’t do it for me and her voice kinda annoys me tbh.

Do people just not like Male VTubers or are the HoloStars just the butt of some joke or something. I see them being called the “HomoStars” all the time and the name is funny I’m just not sure what the deal is. I’m not sure what the whole thing is where it’s seen as career suicide for the females to interact with them.

I know Nijisanji are douchebags and a lot of their talent leave for Vshojo.

I like Korone and Subaru from their clips. But I can’t be bothered to watch Japanese V-Tubers as I don’t speak the language and just like with anime, I don’t feel like reading a TV show and then having to rewind so I can see the character’s facial expression

That’s pretty much my feelings and takes on vtubing.

Echo Lyne is doing her 1st birthday donothon, and in 30 minutes has made $9,000 causing her to cry. One person donated $2,001 which is the largest I've seen, with 2nd place being 1,500. Maybe a Gura Holo Whale has done more. Echo's a good vtuber who is a mix of Rosemi and Pomu and she deserves it.

Regarding the Male\Stars hate, it's actually kinda goes deep.

So, Vtubing. Think of it as the lovechild of Japanese idol culture and anime. Now, both of these have historically catered to lonely guys. Everywhere these things go, it’s the lonely dudes they’re trying to appeal to. And because liking idols or anime wasn’t exactly mainstream, the fans ended up being kind of ostracized, and pushed into their own little corners of society.

Now, some of these folks, they don’t have any stable relationships outside of what they consume. Then 2020 hits, and we’re all locked down, making things even worse. Add in the Tumblr crowd from the 2010s who suddenly got into anime, and you’ve got quite the mess.

Vtubers, they roll up all the aspects of anime into one neat package. These talents are essentially role-playing as anime stereotypes, encouraging waifu culture, simping, and, let’s be honest, spending way too much money.

When you throw a guy into this mix, it breaks the illusion for some people. It’s like, "Wait a minute, reality check!" For others, it’s about keeping that pure, untouched vibe of Cute Girls Doing Cute Things, like in K-On. They don’t want guys messing up their fantasy world.

All around nasty work based on mental illness.

I just don't like most male vtubers. There's no deep psychological issues to it. When you occupy the same entertainment sphere as the likes of Sseth, MATI, Metokur, and the like, not to mention other male content creators that put out videos about pop culture stuff like Jon Tron, RLM, and Internet Historian, you need to be really funny and entertaining for me to want to listen to yet another guy yammer about video games and pop culture shit for hours. Vesper was the only one that came even kinda sorta close to clearing that bar.

@X-avier cuck I feel bad for the male V-tubers tho tbh. They didn’t do anything wrong. It’s not their fault internet losers are faggots.
I think Pippa was the the one who talked at length about no one has really figured out how to make male vtubing work yet. When it finally breaks through, the content and format is probably ultimately going to look pretty different than the current cute girls doing cute things model.
