I also don't think it's that uncommon to take unpaid leave in a job you've worked in for a long time then come back. I'm sure a lot of students do it when they have exams coming up and stuff like that.

If you're good at your job (which by all accounts Chibi inexplicably is) they're not gonna shit-can you for taking a couple weeks off, if only because it would take more time to train your replacement, who'd also have to be paid during that time, than to wait for you to come back.

I think it's far more likely we'll see Adam quit during some impulsive moment where he decides to follow his latest dream, whatever it may be that week.

Yeah I remember this too, wasn't he going to move to a different state for some reason? It could have been for Japan I guess, but I'm sure he had big plans to move state at some point because that was going to fix everything in his life.
