btw you people claiming to know anything about my life are deluxe retarded
--Richard "LowTax" Kyanka, in the days leading up to his final FN Five-seveN revelation
Nick Rekieta saying and posting things like You don't know the full story or You don't have the facts and so on sparked an association I followed back to the Lowtax thread, where a screencap of the Lowtax quote above appears. It's a truism real-life bad guys--unlike cartoony movie villains--typically don't see themselves as the bad guys even when irrefutable proof of the evil they've done and the carnage they've caused is manifestly apparent in the charred bodies and burning rubble around them.

I'm not a monster says the monster. If only we knew the full story and could somehow magically see into their very hearts and minds, then we would know they are VINDICATED!
Per the Lowtax KF thread (a great read btw), Lowtax loved the word vindicated. I'm sure Rekieta loves it, too.
When finally forced against the wall, many bad guys build a hero narrative about themselves and make themselves believe it because they can't handle the truth. There is, I think, a strong possibility Nick Rekieta genuinely believes the charges against him are the result of a vast conspiracy, one that starts with a gossipy church lady and ends with a shadowy cabal at the very top, one eager to punish him for his shiny White Knight crusade against...whatever his crusade was against. (Hey, don't ask me. I don't know and can only guess how he rationalizes this shit.)

So will Rekieta go the way of Lowtax? I doubt it. Comes to that, I doubt he'll do a day in jail. I also doubt Rekieta will ever face the truth, learn from it, clean up his act, and strive to be a better father and husband from that day forward. That's the ending his wife and kids deserve, but it won't happen. For it to happen, Rekieta would need to pop that delusional balloon and admit he's done wrong. He would need to own his own shit, and I can't imagine a possible world where he would do such a thing.
