Dr. Disrespect permanently banned from Twitch - Turns out he was a groomer

I didn't think his statement was bad. If the only things he did was cheat on his wife and text a minor, both of which back in 2017, and he's been legit since, it's stupid to get blood from him for it now. If he had been exposed for this back in 2017 and hasn't done anything since, whether he kept streaming or it was enough to end his career, I'd consider enough time has passed that he's not going to do it again.

Twitch either knew and didn't care because Doc was a big earner or the multi-million dollar company is so incompetent they have no way of knowing when streamers, especially high profile ones, are texting minors.

There's the fair question of "Doc did it before is he still doing it now?" but we should also be entertaining "how many big streamers is Twitch sweeping for because of the money?" Based on what I've seen I'm leaning towards Doc hasn't done it again but I wouldn't be surprised to learn Twitch has been sweeping for higher profile streamers.

None of this is to take away from Doc's act of texting a minor. It's unjustifiably bad and is a permanent mark of pedophilic behavior. He was married and I think had a kid back then which is extra greasy. But if this happened nearly a decade ago and hasn't happened since I'm willing to accept he self-corrected on his own and stopped being a retard. He didn't need to be exposed for it, take a hiatus, then come back with a created sob story where he's conveniently the victim in all this.

Yeah I remember it being said they were pretty damn old DMs which does raise some eyebrows on how long Twitch knew and exactly why they checked his DMs. I guess their only possible out would be if it turned out they did something like "Spot Checks" on popular people's DMs or something, but that'd still be like "Why did it take years?".
Visa vi, it feels like the wrong thing to target Twitch over, the length of time is the concern, not whether they had the power to go checking. Surely we should expect a streaming platform with a lot of minors to be checking their content creator's DMs to make sure nothing is going on.

Agreed, I'm merely stating that Kira has a point that they likely only acted against Dr. Disrespect because he wasn't someone staff liked. Given how utterly insane Cody has been behaving for years I'm inclined to believe that they were digging for something, because I doubt they have spot checkers and if they do they're probably like the rest of Twitch staff: grossly incompetent and lazy enough to make Belphegor blush. They'd need an active reason to do their job and that reason is usually someone upset them.

The rest of his point is... whatever. I barely managed through the whole thing.

Not what I said or even implied. I said a streaming platform (Such as Twitch) which, let's be real with ourselves, has a lot of minors watching content. Content creators should have their DMs checked on the platform to make sure they're not inappropriately interacting with minors. Obviously I don't give a fuck if an adult creator is making 18+ content for adults.
Honestly the real solution is anyone with an account flagged as under 18 should have no access to private messages to avoid this kind of shit out and out, especially if the person they're trying to contact is marked as being over 18, but then again how hard is it for a kid to just click "I'm over 18!" on the back end...

Still a few questions to be answered and context to be gained, but from the horse's mouth he was talking with a minor and the topic was occasionally inappropriate. At best he's an absolute fucking idiot, at worst an outright pedo. This will always hang over his head and from here on out he will be mocked and trolled mercilessly.

Fingers crossed that sometime soon the other shoe drops and that it lands on Twitch.

2020 was a year. I'd bet Twitch fags knew about it well in advance but chose to ban him then.

No idea why he was prohibited from talking about it for the past 4 years. It's pretty sus it's come out in an election year... But perhaps we're all tinfoiling a bit hard.

Well, regardless, Dr. Disrespect can eat shit for this. Would have been better for him if he'd never done this to begin with, or at least come clean 4 years ago.

Also pretty bizarre (not really) that Push Square would cover this non-PlayStation news. Anything to dunk on the conservative losers. I think they're learning from the Farms :)

Lets look into all chats of every twitch streamer and see what we find. What about all the minors that watch all the thot streams that give you glimpses of these girl's browneyes. This was clearly revealed by some jilted twitch employee who was looking through logs and twitch didn't want that to get out. I'm still going with she was 17 until proven wrong.

Anyone making excuses for him on this thread is a literal pissbrain. His own explanation is obviously going to be the best spin he could put on the situation and it still boils down to, at best, 'I knowingly sent inappropriate messages to someone I knew was underage'.

If the messages weren't intimate and explicit and instead just bants with a 17 year old about some third party, he would have said that. If he didn't know the minor was actually a minor, he would have said that. No one wants to be labelled a nonce and will do everything to absolve themselves of such an accusation. It's telling that he hasn't done that. That the best he can manage is a claim (that we can't prove or disprove) that he never intended to pursue it further.
