If you watch this video at about 23:00 you'll see Mike Stoklasa, Rich Evans and Jay Bauman mocking the idea of doing a game show for charity. Needless to say, I don't believe they care about the starving Africans. So, when I watch them on an episode where something is seriously off, like this The Acolyte one, I always try to figure out the angle. What I've figured out over the years is that they treat Disney Star Wars with kid gloves. I don't really know why. It's really annoying though.
They treat a lot of Disney stuff with kid gloves it seems. A real bad one was Indiana Jones DOD. They hardly brought up the biggest problem was the girlboss chick showing up Indy and pissing everyone off. They are male feminists. I don't know how hardcore, but you rarely see them attacking anything that hard by Kennedy. Even in this one they kind of mock the idea that she's really a big part of the problem, kind of the opposite of how South Park dealt with it. And SP was right.

Holy shit, I have the exact same black and red leather waistcoat as Rich Evans.

I'm 6'2 and slim so I think it would NORMALLY look better on me, but who am I to compate myself to a sexbeast like Rich?
Listen man its not your fault i dont think anyone can compare to Rich and youre just going to make yourself upset trying to do so

Anyone think The Drinker, Star Wars Theory, and MauLer are going to do a livestream to address this video? I wouldn't be shocked if they did.

I mean, don't start shit if you don't expect a reaction.
Oh they already roasted their kenobi video. I predict this one will be roasted as well at a 100% chance.

I swear mike is just trying to torture his audience with his take on this shit. The biggest issue with this video is that 50%+ of it was preaching about god knows what.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but I would have prefered they just didn't interact with this show at all. Don't waste air on Disney+ slop.
No matter how they try to say they are above the "culture war", they saw this as an easy way to get interaction.

Mike doesn't care about Star Wars, and Rich doesn't either.
Just don't touch their beloved star trek.

I missed their Kenobi video (I was literally too busy at the time--I was taking care of a literal newborn around the time Kenobi came out haha).

They ... Liked it? Man, maybe they do need to start going to AA meetings ...

For me, the first time RLM had what I thought was a horrible take was when they were saying good things about the 4th Matrix movie (which is one of the biggest, most obnoxious pieces of dogshit I've ever watched). The 4th Matrix is such pseudo-intellectual garbage. If the soyface were a movie, it would be the 4th Matrix.

They were extremely apathetic toward it, which the Disney rant channels characterized as "liking."

Oh God I forgot that one. Matrix 4 is so insanely bad. I was laughing at the end when all programs were dropping off buildings to stop them from getting somewhere, I don't even remember it much.. But it reminded me of the opening scene in The Happening where all the construction guys throw themselves off the building.

They barely mentioned Reva in Obi-wan at all, which was really what the whole show ended up being about.

That EFAP series is pretty good sometimes, I just recently started watching it. They go real hard on Chris Stuckmann, who if these guys aren't careful will soon be considered more like him than they probably would want. Jeremy Jahns has been doing reviews of Acolyte too, he's about the only reviewer on Youtube that doesn't seem to be hate baiting or a simp.

If RLM gets a substantial amount of backlash for this, then it would become the rare Chris Stuckmann win. LOL.

I don't understand why RLM doesn't just ignore any Star Wars/Star Trek content, they say that there apathetic to them as a whole yet they keep putting out "reviews" that talk about external discussions about the shows than the actual content of the media they watched.
Nerd shit gets them clicks, therefore more money.

But it's bad when everyone else does it, according to them.

And South Park was milquetoast about it. Then again, they immediately recognized TFA was memberberries, not a movie.

I wouldn't jump to the male feminist conclusion, seeing as how they never seemed to creep on women. I think it's because the Plinkett reviews were how they got their brief toehold into Hollywood, as it was those videos that got them praise from Simon Pegg and Patton Oswald. They became respected critics that people like Rian Johnson and JJ Abrams listened to, hence why there's no politics in TFA and the big marketing push with practical effects. One of the unspoken rules was not to criticize Disney movies too hard because their reviews influenced TFA a great deal more than they should have, so to complain about movies after receiving their recommendations would cut them off of that access. Disney even thought their advice on over-charging Star Wars customers was a good idea, hence the $6000 Star cruiser experience where you pretend to be in a space ship instead of going on an actual cruise that Disney also provides. The result is that experience was a big money loss--because basic economics--and Star Wars has not made its money back under Disney. Disney really thought they could milk Star Wars fans and play on their stupidity. Well, Disney is dumb enough to alienate people like Star Wars Theory and that comes from agreeing with Rich Evans's contempt.

Now, everyone but shills treats Disney Wars as Best of the Worst movies; anyone who watches them is doing so to laugh at the shows, but they can't join in because of bullshit Gen X contrarianism.

The writing has been on the wall with them for a while now. Their videos are way lower energy than they used to be and it seems like they are always bored, especially in the newer Half in the Bag videos, likely a combination of burnout, old age, and the industry continually releasing boring shit. The Nerd Crew video about Madame Web was a great example of how they have declined over the years, where it was a mock-Zoom call instead of a podcast set with physical comedy and gags. It was just so boring and unfunny but those old ones are still hilarious, quotable, and relevant even today. Nerd Crew was long over with and they had already made the point they wanted to make with it, to bring it back just for a half-assed video like that was a little deflating. I'm also not a fan of the le random tumblr cartoons they're dumping on us, and honestly, re:View and BOTW aren't that great either, especially when they have Josh or some washed up hollyweird reject on.

They have also been noticeably more pandering to the algorithm because (at least on HitB) they'll bleep out swears more often and they don't really do exaggerated edgy/violent gags anymore, if they do any gags at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they go the SJW route given the company they choose to keep and their intention to keep things "clean" these days. One thing that stuck out to me was when the coof started and they had that skit on HitB about "social differencing" and "think about grandma". To me it came off like they were half-joking and looking back it almost seems like thinly veiled virtue signaling, like "we know times are tough but we're in this together guys, so do your part, comply with regulations, and we'll make it through this!" It starts around 3:04 and ends at 3:39.

I never really cared whether they liked or disliked the movies, but I enjoyed listening to Mike and Jay talk about why they liked or disliked them. Now it seems they just give passive praise to all the corporate slop or they are just apathetic toward the movie like they are when it comes to their own videos. I think the most energy they've had recently was in the trivia videos (specifically the Star Trek trivia) and because of that, they were actually kind of fun to watch because it was something fresh and the gags were funny.

What made RLM stand out to me was how Mike, Jay and Rich played off each other and how they used their brand of humor to make criticisms about the movie industry when everyone else was standing in front of a camera with paid shill opinions or trying to be the next internet personality. Now they are just coasting on recognition until they stagnate and YouTube/Patreon stops paying the bills. We'll never get hilarious moments like this ever again. Sad!

You’re probably right. They’re not dumb guys, they probably know that heel-turning and pretending to like Disney’s current Star Wars slop is gonna get infinitely more rage-clicks and engagement than if they just agreed with everyone else that it stinks.
