Beats me, but apparently some people think that progressive ideals can be run without money, and even when such things are actually affordable (when Louisiana was flush with oil money in the 1970s, they invested a lot in welfare programs, education, state park, clinics, etc.) it actually doesn't improve quality of life all that much.
