It's kinda like a YouTube/IG Live panel, but done for money. TikTok gives them a timer and random users give their preferred streamer "gifts" - which are microtransaction tokens that range between 1 cent and about five hundred dollars. The users buy these tokens and then gift them to the streamer (who gets cash from it). The person who gets more is the winner. Naturally since most TikTok users are kids, the gifts given are usually under $1 of value.

Chantal never established herself on TikTok. There might be reuploaded 2018 clips of her getting millions of views, but Chantal in the present sense is a literal nobody on the app. Big TT livestreamers easily get over 10K viewers and she struggled to break a 100 even after linking it in her tab.
I think it was a desperate attempt to garner 1) money she lost to that demonetized video and 2) attention she craves from strangers.
